MEETING NOTES
August 20, 2014
The regular August meeting of the Tree Commission was not held due to the lack of a quorum which was
known in advance. The regular meeting time was utilized for a working group meeting for the upcoming 22nd
Annual Urban & Community Forestry Workshop. Those in attendance were: Chair, Steve Allgeier, Ex-officio
members Brian Rhoten and Jessica Fitzgerald of Bartlett Tree Experts and City staff: Samantha Parthree, Eric
Schlitzer and Steve Sager.
Old Business:
a. 2014 Major Projects:
(1) 2014 Urban & Community Forestry Workshop
a. Lead Commissioners: Brian Rhoten and Jessica Fitzgerald
b. Date: 10.3.2014
c. Location: Carroll Community College has been reserved
d. Event: 22nd Annual Urban Forestry Workshop
e. Note: Invite Tree Commissioners from around the State, Record the sessions
f. Workshop Agenda should be available by 8.1.2014
Implemented: The Commissioners discussed the desirability of using the popular tree
logo from a recent Workshop on a consistent basis as a desirable method of branding
the Tree Commissions efforts.
The working group meeting ended at 5:30 p.m.
