Meeting Minutes of Joint Meeting of the Everest Metropolitan Police Department Joint Finance Committee and the Everest Metro Municipal Court Finance Committee, dated 07/01/2020 Present: Wally Sparks – President; Village of Weston Mark Maloney – Trustee; Village of Weston Denny Richmond – Alderman; City of Schofield Kari Carroll – Alderman; City of Schofield Yee Lee Xiong – Trustee; Village of Weston Clay Schulz- EMPD Police Chief Becca Schreiber– EMPD Administrative Assistant Absent: Kregg Hoehn – Mayor; City of Schofield Milt Olson – Chairman; Town of Weston I. CALL TO ORDER A. President Sparks opened the meeting at 1600 hrs. Roll call. B. Approval of minutes of meeting held June 3, 2020. *M/S/P Maloney/Xiong II. NEW BUSINESS – EMMC A. III. NEW BUSINESS – EMPD A. Chief Schulz discussed the possible approval to change Everest Metro Municipal prosecuting attorney due to the current prosecuting attorney leaving the area. The recommended attorney is Dietrich VanderWaal S.C. attorney’s office, who will use James Kurszewski, who is willing to give us the same rate as the previous attorney. *M/S/P Maloney/Richmond IV. CHIEF’S REPORT – A. Department updates – Chief advised that our newest Officer is Ethan Burmeister who started on June 8th. Another new Officer, Samuel Wesley, will begin on July 6th. Chief also mentioned that our Officers did go to Madison and were signed up to go to the Democratic National Convention but officers will not be going in the future unless there is a change for officer safety.
