BOARD OF TRUSTEES SPECIAL MEETING AGENDA 5/10/2021 Prepared by: Sherry Weinkauf, Village Clerk  REQUEST FOR CONSIDERATION Public Mtg/Date: Board of Trustees, Special Meeting, May 10, 2021 Description: President’s Committee and Commission Appointments. From: Keith Donner, P.E., Administrator on behalf of Mark Maloney, Village President Question: Consideration and approval of President’s appointments to Village Standing Committees and Commissions. Background Due to change up of the Board of Trustee’s meeting schedule to one meeting per month committee and commission appointments of citizen members to fill vacant seats and Trustees to fill expiring terms has been delayed in 2021 relative to prior years’ schedule. The Public Works Committee needs to be addressed due to one citizen member, John Jensen, having resigned due to medical reasons, former Trustee, Jon Ziegler not being re-elected, and citizen member Hooshang Zeyghami, being a newly elected Trustee with a proposed appointment to the committee. A special meeting of the Board is being convened for the purpose of considering and approving President Maloney’s proposed appointments to all committees and commissions. The attached appointment list is stamped “DRAFT” as there are still a few unanswered questions at the time of writing this memo. It has not been confirmed that Carrie Sukup wishes to be re-appointed for another term on the Finance Committee and Tourism Commission. It has not been confirmed that Katrina Clark wishes to be re-appointed to serve another term on the Park Committee. We need to verify Joyce Elliott’s eligibility to serve on the Tourism Commission. Ryan Simmons wishes to discontinue serving on the Human Resources Committee. The SAFER charter allows the Village Board to appoint one citizen to the SAFER Commission. The appointment of Jean Jackan to this seat was made at the April 19, 2021 meeting of the Board of Trustees. The SAFER Board approves at-large seats on the Commission by approval of the SAFER Board. It is proposed to recommend the SAFER Board recommends Brian Feine for a seat on the Commission with Scott Tatro as an alternate for consideration at the June meeting of the SAFER Board. There is a possibility of a replacement appointment to Plan Commission. Changes to the list are likely to occur prior to Monday in these aforementioned areas.
