Environmental Advisory Committee

Agenda for the Environmental Committee Meeting Date: July 19, 2021 1. Opening – Dave Brizzolara “This meeting, which conforms with the OPEN PUBLIC MEETINGS LAW, CHAPTER 231, PUBLIC LAWS OF 1975, is a regular Environmental Committee meeting. Notices have been filed with our local official newspapers and posted on the Municipal Bulletin Board”. 2. Public Forum – Scout masters present to discuss the opportunities at Nugent Park? i. Chris to suggest they come September 4. Passing Meeting minutes 5. Council Liaison Report – New members update? – Chris reached out to 5 potential candidates and 3 no longer live in town and other 2 were not interested; Chris to send a couple more names – Norel reached out to Martha at the library for the Junior Friends program for new student members; she seems to be interested; but they won’t be back until September 6. Community Garden – Sprinkler system update? – It has been installed! Waters 4 nights per week. Converted all tanks to gravity feed with spigots. – Now there is a gopher issue; suggest they install a have a heart trap but the town will not be responsible 7. TREX Program – Open discussion on update using the concert in the park to kick of our TREX restart – Postpone until the Neil Diamond concert August 14 i. Should there be a giveaway? ii. Chris could ask clerk’s office to get 250-500-750 bags; bags could be used at other events – We will need to make revisions to the article – new start date September 1 i. Need to add update for new town clean up date  – Need to make sure we have a rotation for pick up once a week; maybe a 6 week rotation. 8. Environmental Scavenger Hunt 9. Nugent Park 10.
