MINUTES OF CITY OF WHARTON CITY COUNCIL PUBLIC SAFETY COMMITTEE AND CONSULTANT SELECTION COMMITTEE MEETING City Hall, 120 East Caney Street, Wharton, Texas Monday, June 8, 2020 6: 30 p.m. City Manager Andres Garza, Jr. declared a meeting of the City Council Public Safety Committee and Consultant Selection Committee duly open for the transaction of business at 6:30 p.m. Committee Members present were: Councilmember Tent' Freese, Councilmember Alice Heard and Councilmember Donald Mueller. Committee Member absent was: None. Council Member present was: Councilmember Clifford Jackson. Staff Members present were: City Manager Andres Garza, Jr., Assistant to City Manager Brandi Jimenez., Community Development Director Gwyn Teves and Emergency Management Coordinator Steve Johnson. Visitors present were: Jessica Dunn- The County Gin, Stephen Swindell-Jones and Carter and Mr. Chad Odom- Wharton Economic Development Corporation Executive Director. Public comments. There were no public comments. The first item on the agenda was the reading of the minutes from the meeting held February 26, 2018. Councilmember Terry Freese made a motion to approve the minutes. Councilmember Don Mueller seconded the motion. All voted in favor. The second item on the agenda was to review and consider Sanitation and Decontamination Services for City Facilities, Properties and Vehicles. Community Development Director Gwyn Teves stated to the Committee that the City of Wharton received sealed bids for sanitation and decontamination services to be used in the event of an emergency on June 2, 2020 at 2: 00 p.m. She stated that the proposals would have to be rated by the Committee and a recommendation formulated to be presented on the June 22, 2020 City Council meeting. After some discussion, no action was taken. The third item on the agenda was adjournment. There being no further business to conduct Councilmember Don Mueller moved to adjourn the meeting.
