The Special Meeting of the Common Council called for Monday, June 29, 2015 at six o'clock in the
evening in the Common Council Chamber, Municipal Building. Mayor Roach presiding and the
following Members present: Mrs. Hunt-Robinson, Mr. Kirkpatrick, Mr. Krolian, Mrs. Lecuona, Mr.
Martin and Mrs. Smayda.

The Special Meeting was called to hold a public hearing in relation to Introductory Local Law No. 2 of
2015 entitled, "A Local Law extending until December 31, 2018, in accordance with Chapter 18 of the
Laws of 2015, the imposition of a room occupancy tax originally authorized by Chapter 95 of the Laws of
2009, Section 1202-aa of the Tax Law, and established by Local Law No. 2 for 2009, and amended by
Local Law No. 2 for 2012, and codified in Chapter 2-4, Article III, Division 7 of the Municipal Code of
the City of White Plains."

Council President Martin moved that the hearing be opened.
Councilwoman Smayda seconded the motion.

The Mayor declared the hearing opened and asked if anyone wished to be heard.

Council President Martin moved the following Local Law.
LOCAL LAW INTRODUCTORY NO. 2 FOR 2015
A LOCAL LAW EXTENDING UNTIL DECEMBER 31, 2018, IN ACCORDANCE WITH CHAPTER
18 OF THE LAWS OF 2015, THE IMPOSITION OF A ROOM OCCUPANCY TAX ORIGINALLY
AUTHORIZED BY CHAPTER 95 OF THE LAWS OF 2009, SECTION 1202-aa OF THE TAX LAW,
AND ESTABLISHED BY LOCAL LAW NO. 2 FOR 2009, AND AMENDED BY LOCAL LAW NO. 2
FOR 2012, AND CODIFIED IN CHAPTER 2-4, ARTICLE III, DIVISION 7 OF THE MUNICIPAL
CODE OF THE CITY OF WHITE PLAINS.
Be it enacted by the Common Council of the City of White Plains as follows:
Section 1. Pursuant to a home rule request by the Common Council of the City of White Plains, the New
York State Legislature adopted Chapter 18 of the Laws of 2015, authorizing the City of White Plains to
continue a 3% tax on the occupancy of hotel rooms through December 31, 2018. This local law amends
Local No. 2 for 2009 of the City of White Plains, as further amended by Local Law No. 2 for 2012,
codified as Article III, Division 7 of Chapter 2-4 of the Municipal Code of the City of White Plains, and
originally authorized by Chapter 95 of the Laws of 2009, Section 1202-aa of the Tax Law, to confirm the
extension of the 3% occupancy tax through December 31, 2018.
Section 2. All other provisions of Local Law No. 2 for 2009 of the City of White Plains, as further
amended by Local Law No. 2 for 2012, shall remain in full force and effect.
Section 3. This local law shall take effect immediately.
Councilwoman Smayda seconded the motion.
Adopted by the following roll call vote: Mrs. Hunt-Robinson, Mr. Kirkpatrick, Mr. Krolian, Mrs.
Lecuona, Mr. Martin, Mrs. Smayda and the Mayor - 7 - 0.
