OLD BUSINESS
*** Leslie Recused Herself from the Following Item ***
Edge Condos, 1010 E 7th Street, material change, Dia Sullivan (ARC 20-16) The applicant
presented the changes to the materials on the body of the building because they cannot
be obtained from the manufacturer. The material will look very similar – tan in place of
the yellow; brown in place of the green. The design of the material will look the same as
the previous material with the same application.
Motion:
Tracy – move to approve as submitted
Diane – 2nd
Discussion: none
Vote: motion passes unanimously
*** Leslie Rejoined the Meeting ***
WAG Dog Park, 1720 E 2nd Street, storage and kiosk (ARC 21-25) The applicant
presented the changes considering the concerns of the Committee from the meeting in
June.
Leslie – the kiosk is still separate structure from the shed which will be located near the
entrance
Tracy – the shed is near the entrance; yes, it will be manufactured to the Dog Park specs
1
Shane – what will be on the back side? The kiosk seems like the it would be a trailhead-
type place but understands the need to locate it further from the entrance
Leslie – concerned with dog urine and because it is on-grade this will cause maintenance
issues; appreciates the change on the shed but doesn't think the dog character fits the
character of the park
Tracy – information on the kiosk? Yes, discussed the possibility of a mural on the
structure. Wondered about the challenges with maintaining a mural in that environment
Kiosk is near the south entrance; Shed is for tools and other small equipment to maintain
the Park
Leslie – understands the location of the kiosk and the information – always part of the
master plan
Wants to make it convenient for the volunteers
Diane – has no problem with the location of the entrance; thinks it would be best if it just
looked like a building and not a doghouse
Shane – durability and aesthetic are both important because it is the main entrance; it is
possible to have a simple design that is durable
Leslie – some sort of stonework on the bottom 1-foot to keep it clean from the dog urine;
something more 'welcoming'
Seems like a fairly simple item and more durable – would look nice; perhaps metal
Leslie – work with your architect to decide which material would look good and bldg.
elevations on all sides; this will help get some continuity with the other buildings in the
park
Metal wainscoat would probably be the best since there isn't stone in the park
Motion on the Shed:
Tracy – move to table
Christine – 2nd
Discussion: none
Vote: motion passes unanimously
Motion on the Kiosk:
Leslie – move to approve the kiosk – its location and the original design from the June
meeting
Tracy – 2nd
Discussion: none
Vote: motion passes unanimously
*** Paul Dismissed Himself from the Meeting ***
Hartman Duplex, 1320 Wisconsin Avenue, color change (ARC 20-25) The applicant
described the color changes and provided the committee samples.
2
Diane – asked clarifying questions on the location of colors
The only change is the body color
