WHITEFISH ARCHITECTURAL REVIEW COMMITTEE MINUTES July 19, 2022 The meeting was called to order by Diane Kane at 8:15 AM PRESENT: Christine Bleyhl, Diane Kane, Ryan Kiefer, Tracy Rossi ABSENT: Leslie Lowe, Paul McElroy, (one vacancy) STAFF: Wendy Compton-Ring PUBLIC COMMENT: none MINUTES: The minutes from June 21, 2022 were unanimously approved. OLD BUSINESS 104 O’Brien Avenue, Mixed Use, MT Creative (ARC 22-10) The applicant reviewed the changes from the previous application including: driveways being changed from asphalt to concrete, described the building material changes and presented the material samples to the Committee. The Committee discussed the various materials Ryan – it is an improvement over the previous design; it is less towering Diane – especially on the west side Motion: Tracy – move to approve as submitted Christine – 2nd Discussion: none Vote: motion passes unanimously NEW BUSINESS Wilkinson Estates Duplex, 1015 Wisconsin Avenue, Darkhorse Design Group, (ARC 22- 16) The applicant described the project, its location, the colors and materials. Christine – asked the applicant to look at the chimney height and keep it under 35-feet Ryan – likes the palette 1 Christine – overall likes the project; questioned the vinyl fence material in the back Tracy – how many of the trees will be preserved? Most of it will be new trees. The trees looks like they are past their life. Ryan – if there is a possibility of saving the trees that would be great Christine – nice mix of landscaping Tracy – likes the project Could do a direct vent out the wall – will look into it Motion: Christine – move to approve subject to replace the vinyl fence, revise the chimney to stay below 35-feet and preserve as many trees as possible Ryan – 2nd Discussion: the Committee discussed the materials of the fence Vote: motion passes unanimously Downtowner North, 533 & 541 E 2nd Street, 21-suite hotel, OZ Architects (ARC 22-15) Described the location, materials, color and landscaping. Ryan – likes the project a lot Tracy – loves everything about this building and how all the materials come together Diane – it could have looked very massive, but the design won’t make it look overly large Christine – appreciate keeping it under 45-feet; fit bike racks – the alley on the SW side working on fitting it all in Ryan – had questions about the lighting – noted all the lighting is shining downward? Yes. However, bulbs can be changed out – suggested looking at another fixture Motion: Christine – move to approve as submitted Tracy – 2nd Discussion: none Vote: motion passes unanimously OTHER ITEMS • The Committee still has one vacancy.
