OLD BUSINESS
75 & 86 Serpentine Circle, Quarry III, Will MacDonald (ARC 22-08) Described the
changes to the project from the previous review in May. The buildings are oriented
differently and show a different color for a portion of the building. Described the
landscaping changes from the previous plan, removal of the carport between the building
and Wisconsin Avenue and the location of the garbage/screening.
Ryan – is it a different wood or different stain? Different stain
Discussion about orientation of the buildings on the site
Christine – concerned with elevation that feels like a backside; it needs something more
to make it feel like a front elevation as it faces the street
Leslie – continues to be concerned with the design being driven by the amount of asphalt
and the small insignificant landscaping The site is constrained and circulation limits the
landscaping; Phase III is a portion of the overall project with trails and the neighborhood
center
Ryan – would like to see more discussion regarding the space in between the buildings
Leslie – could make an open space between the buildings
Christine – is the central alley a requirement from the City or can it be landscaped?
Motion:
Tracy – move to table to look at the central alley between the two buildings for a small
landscaping area and bring the materials for review
Ryan – 2nd
Discussion:
Tracy – are the items different enough to distinguish the buildings from one another?
Diane – reviewed the standards for the Committee
1
Tracy – would like to like to ensure if there are other items to be addressed, we do it
now
Ryan – attempts to distinguish between the two buildings
Christine – not opposed to the design thinks it’s enough
