AGENDA Climate Action Plan Standing Committee Regular Meeting July 17, 2024 The regular meeting of the Climate Action Plan Standing Committee will be held on Wednesday, the 17th of July, 2024 at 3:30 p.m. in the City Council Chambers Conference Room at City Hall, 415 East 2nd Street. A. Call to Order – Committee Chair Dakota Whitman B. Approval of Minutes from the June 19th, 2024 Meeting. C. Communications/Outreach/Education – • Van Pool discussion with Lyn Hellegaard of MRTMA. We also invited Tom LePage of the Logan Health Foundation to join us. • Report from Fabiola on her work. She is assisting both Climate Smart Glacier Country and the CAP committee. • Land use in relation to Climate Action. Dakota and Nathan were going to work on a letter/recommendation concerning downtown paid parking. D. Project Updates • Existing Projects o Anderson Rosenthal will provide an update on the Whitefish Winterland Film Festival this September 26th to 28th. Attached is some information on the project. o Northstone Solar summer intern Niko Hunter will discuss solar project ideas involving city property. o Growth Policy update – Alan Tiefenbach o Community Solar Project with FEC. o Transit Update - Proposed Flathead Commuter Route county commissioners voted against - Mobility Platform/Transit MOU o FY 25 city budget process related to CAP committee  Retro-commissioning of ESC Building  Public Works EV charging coordinated with FEC.  City vehicle purchase – hybrid and EVs. Invite public works mechanic to fall meeting. o C-PACE status – Provide info on city website. Provide link to C-PACE info under Sustainability webpage. o Safe Streets for All (SS4A) Plan o Mountain Towns 2030 Collaboration and Summit Update o Recycling Recommendations? o Follow up – April 30th Weatherization & Electrification Workshop –Fabi may write an article. • Upcoming Events and Proposed Projects o The Montana DEQ Climate Pollution Reduction Plan update E. Other Committee Status Updates F. Public Comment G. Adjournment • Possible future discussion topics. o We invited the Fire Chief, Cole Hadley, to speak at a future meeting. o Electrification of transportation in GNP, Jami Belt. Sent an email July 10th. o Renewable Diesel with Jesse Therien of Yellowstone-Teton Clean Cities.
