Summary: Toby Scott, called the meeting to order at 6:01 pm.

3. APPROVAL OF July 12, 2023 MINUTES
Summary: Members reviewed the minutes of July 12, 2023.
ACTION: Rowles made a motion to approve the minutes of July 12, 2023. Schuber seconded
the motion. All were in favor and the motion passed unanimously.

6. PUBLIC HEARINGS & ACTION
A. WLP 23-W24 2089 Houston Drive
B. Summary: The applicant is proposing to replace the existing wooden staircase with stone
as well as to replace an existing retaining wall with stone. The applicant asserts that the
stairs are rotting, and need replaced as well as the retaining wall that is retaining the
staircase.
C. Nelson Loring summarized the staff report for members, noting a couple of key points:
• The deck removal is a condition of approval and would need to be remediated even if the
application was not approved.
• The conditions in place for tree removal require that replacement trees be planted, the stumps will
remain, and that impact to the lake is minimized.
Recommendation: Staff is recommending approval of WLP 23-W24 with the 28 conditions listed in the
report.
ACTION: Scott made a motion to approve WLP 23-W24. Rowles seconded the motion. The motion was
approved unanimously.
The application will go before City Council on August 7.

Summary: Draft updated lakeshore regulations are almost ready to present to the Lakeshore
Protection Committee.
