Others Present: Terry Petersen, Trustee-in-Training; Kelly Peppmeier, Trustee-in- Training; Library Director Joey Kositzky, Secretary 1) CALL TO ORDER The meeting was called to order at 7:07 pm by Chair Ericson. Chair Ericson thanked Trustee Gonser and Director Kositzky for meeting with Daria Perez of the Whitefish Community Foundation forthe purpose of replacing retired Chair Moran as fund advisor and adding Trustee Gonser. 2) COMMUNICATIONS FROM THE PUBLIC None 3) DIRECTOR'S REPORT Kositzky briefly summarized the Director's Report. Page #2 Board of Trustees' Meeting Minutes March 9, 2022 4) OLD BUSINESS a) Approval of February 9, 2022, Board of Trustees' Meeting Minutes MOTION: Vice Chair Bond made a motion to approve the February 9, 2022, Board of Trustees' minutes. Trustee Hildner seconded the motion. Motion passed unanimously. b) Policies and Procedures Chair Ericson requested that Trustees review the following policies and be prepared to discuss and/or vote at the April 13, 2022, meeting: 2018. Children and the Library; 2024. Special (Non-Library) Event Use Policy: 2027 COVID-19 c} WLA Report Kositzky reported that due to a lack of a quorum the WLA meeting was postponed. d) Financials None e) Budget There being no questions regarding the pending 2023 Budget, Chair Ericson requested Treasurer Gonser and Director Kositzky meet to create a proposal of a Whitefish Community Library 2023 budget to be presented to the Trustees for approval at the April 13, 2022 meeting. f) COVID Update Director Kositzky reported that the library had removed the "masks recommended" signs from the library and that staff was comfortable not wearing a mask on a continual basis. She explained that staff wou Id respect the comfort level of all staff and patrons in their decision to wear or remove masks when appropriate. Page#3 Board of Trustees' Minutes March 9, 2022  g) Update on Electronic Survey Trustee Tubbs presented the final Electronic Survey she had created. The Trustees agreed that the survey should beavailablefor30 days. Kositzkywill add the link to the WCL webpage, Facebook page, and make hard copies to hand out at the library. Kositzky will ask if the City would add the link to their website and Ericson suggested we add it to our personal Facebook pages. h) Other Old Business Trustee Hildner gave an update on progress of the 'parking lot round table' saying he hoped to have a round table discussion in May. He suggested the Trustees investigate being represented on the City parking permit committee. He reported that one could sign up to be notified of upcoming parking permit meetings through the City website. 5) NEW BUSINESS a) The next meeting will be April 13, 2022 at 7pm in the Heckathorn Community Room. b) New Trustee-in-Training Chair Ericson suggested the new Trustee-in-Training meeting be held April 6, 2022, at 7pm. c) Other New Business Kositzky reported she received a phone call from a Partners' Trustee requesting support from herself and the Trustees regarding an upcoming meeting with the State Library Commission. She explained her reason for declining but affirmed that she could not speak for the Trustees. Chair Ericson said she would contact the Partners' Trustee and speak to him explaining the position of the WCL Board of Trustees and the Whitefish Community Library's Mission Statement. c) Other New Business Page#4 Board of Trustees' Minutes March 9, 2022 Chair Ericson asked the Trustees to complete the Director's evaluation form and forward it to her for discussion atthe April 13, 2022 meeting. She also reminded the Trustees to check their Trustee g-mail account at least once a week. Chair Ericson also requested that an Endowment Update be added as a standing agenda item. Trustee Tubbs reminded the Trustees that April 12, 2022 was National Library Week. 6) ADJOURNMENT The meeting was adjourned at 8:07. ~on,Chair Date r t
