WHITEFISH COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BOARD December 19, 2024 6:00PM A) CALL TO ORDER Chair Steve Qunell called the regular meeting of the Whitefish Community Development Board to order at 6:17 pm. Board members present were Phil Boland, Jon Heberling, and Scott Wurster. Board members Toby Scott, Whitney Beckham, and John Middleton were absent. City Staff present were Planning Director David Taylor and Long Range Planner Alan Tiefenbach. There were no other people attending in addition to the board members and staff. B) AGENDA CHANGES The agenda item 1, the Zoning Appeal, was postponed until January 16, 2025. C) APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES Wurster made a motion to approve the October 17th minutes, seconded by Heberling. The motion was approved unanimously. D) COMMUNICATIONS FROM THE PUBLIC (items not on the agenda) None. E) UNFINISHED BUSINESS None. F) PUBLIC HEARINGS 1. A zoning appeal of a zoning administrator decision per 11-7-6, by Robert Horne, Jr., Kate McMahon, and Phyllis and Jack Quatman, regarding whether a 300’ setback is required for an accessory building to an airport in relation to WCUP 24-05 for an airplane hangar at the Whitefish Airport that was approved by City Council on July 1, 2024. The property is located at 1761 E 2nd Street and can be legally described as Lot 3EAB, in S32, T31 N, R21 W, Flathead County. Taylor (WZA 24-01) POSTPONED UNTIL JANUARY 16TH. PUBLIC HEARING The public hearing was canceled and the matter postponed until January 16, 2025. Whitefish Community Development Board 1 December 19, 2024 G) GOOD AND WELFARE • Matters from Board Chair Qunell wanted staff to bring back other options for the Community Development Board work session before the regular meetings as he felt like there was not enough time to properly address all the items. Staff agreed and noted that the next meeting was scheduled to include presentations by Whitefish High School Students. • Matters from staff Staff noted there was still one vacancy on the Board as the Council did not act to appoint the additional applicant beyond the two incumbents. There were no additional matters from staff. • Poll of Board members available for next meeting All Board member indicated they would be at the January 16th, regular meeting.
