ROLL CALL PRESENT Board Member Thayer Coburn Board Member Mason Becker Board Member Elizabeth Thelen CITY STAFF Ashwini Rao, Economic Development Coordinator Innovation Center Advisory Panel Minutes April 14, 2026 Page 2 APPROVAL OF AGENDA A committee member can choose to remove an item from the agenda or rearrange its order; however, introducing new items to the agenda is not allowed. Any proposed changes require a motion, a second, and approval from the Committee to be implemented. The agenda shall be approved at each meeting even if no changes are being made at that meeting. January meeting minutes EXECUTIVE SESSION Adjourn to Closed Session, TO RECONVENE, pursuant to Wisconsin Statutes 19.85(1)(e) “Deliberating or negotiating the purchasing of public properties, the investing of public funds, or conducting other specified public business, whenever competitive or bargaining reasons require a closed session. Items to be discussed: No Executive Session CONSIDERATIONS / DISCUSSIONS / REPORTS 2. University Update: Elizabeth Thelen University update was provided by E. Thelen. New Executive Director for the SBDC has been hired. Three new Executive-in-residence at the College of Business. One is in strategy, one is in AI, and the newest one is in design thinking. 3. City of Whitewater Update: Mason Becker Update on City of Whitewater was provided by M. Becker. Currently 5 vacant suites available at the Innovation Center. Creative Solutions to start promoting our leasable spaces more rather than just focusing on space rentals and that kind of thing. 4. CDA Update: Thayer Coburn CDA monthly meeting coming up. Agenda/packet is online. 5. Advisory Panel Role Discussion and Possible Action City to provide a formal proposal and a short list of potential invitees at the next meeting. 6. CESA 2 Request: Discussion and possible action Innovation Center Advisory Panel Minutes April 14, 2026 Page 3 The panel recommended that the CESA request be forwarded to the Common Council. 7. Summerset Marine Update Mason Becker provided an update regarding Summerset Marine's expansion to the Technology Park.
