Board of Aldermen Meeting

CITY OF WILLARD BOARD OF ALDERMEN SPECIAL MEETING April 22, 2010 6:00 P.M. Board present: Aldermen David Hemphill, Aldermen Pat Lloyd, Aldermen Tim Magee, Aldermen Richard Simpson, and Aldermen Bryan Vincent. Not present were Mayor Jamie Schoolcraft and Aldermen Doug Johnson. Also present: Deputy City Clerk, Kate Gould; Chief of Police, Tom McClain; Major David Richardson; and City Attorney Sativa Boatman-Sloan. Also in attendance were Michael Daley and Sarah Overstreet of the Willard Cross Country Times. Board President Richard Simpson called the meeting to order. Roll Call Aldermen Simpson-present; Aldermen Hemphill-present; Aldermen Lloyd- present; Mayor Schoolcraft---------------; Aldermen Johnson---------------; Aldermen Magee-present; Aldermen Vincent-present. Dangerous Dog Hearing Willard Police Major David Richardson explained to the Dangerous Dog Board why he considered the dogs owned by Mr. Michael Daley as meeting the requirements for declaration of dangerous dogs under Section 205.090 of the Willard Municipal code book. The hearing board asked questions of Major Richardson and the circumstances that lead to Mr. Michael Daley’s dogs being declared dangerous. Mr. Daley explained to the Dangerous Dog Board why he believed his dogs should not be declared dangerous. Motion made by Aldermen Lloyd and seconded by Aldermen Hemphill to not uphold the declaration of dangerous dog. Chief Tom McClain-I, Aldermen Hemphill-I; Aldermen Lloyd-I; Aldermen Simpson-Abstain; Aldermen Magee-I; Aldermen Vincent-I. Five (5) votes aye and Aldermen Simpson stated that he was abstaining from voting because he was running the meeting. Motion carried.
