Board of Aldermen Meeting

CITY OF WILLARD BOARD OF ALDERMAN SPECIAL MEETING APRIL 23, 2012 Board present: Alderman Trapp-present, Alderman Hemphill-present, Mayor Keltner-present, Alderman Vincent-present, Alderman Simmons-present and Alderman Johnson- present. Alderman Roggensees was not present. Staff present: City Clerk, Dale Duvall and Police Chief, Tom McClain. City Attorney Ken Reynolds was also present. Citizens in attendance: Tammy Williams, Bill Schooling and Shila Schooling Mayor Tom Keltner led the Pledge of Allegiance. Call to Order -Mayor Tom Keltner called the meeting to order at 5:30 pm. Roll Call -The City Clerk called the roll call. Alderman Trapp-present, Alderman Roggensees--- -, Alderman Hemphill-present, Mayor Keltner-present, Alderman Johnson---present, Alderman Vincent-present and Alderman Simmons-present. Attorney Ken Reynolds informed the Board that the complaint, Mr. Walters was not going to be attending. Mr. Reynolds said that the City Clerk had contacted Mr. Walters and that he stated that he did not want to cause problems for the Schoolings. He just didn’t want the dog to bite him again or anyone else. Ms. Williams spoke to the Board and told them that the dog was a one year old puppy, and had been neutered the week prior to the incident. She stated that the dog had never behaved like that before and that she thought that maybe he was agitated by the lawnmower. After discussion among the Board, the Mayor stated that the Board would be voting on whether the dog should be classified as dangerous. Alderman Simmons-Aye, Alderman Trapp-Aye, Alderman Roggensees---, Alderman Hemphill-Nay, Alderman Vincent-Nay and Alderman Johnson--Nay. Three votes No. Two votes Yes. Motion denied. Motion to Adjourn -Motion by Alderman Simmons with a second by Alderman Hemphill to adjourn the meeting. Alderman Simmons-Aye, Alderman Trapp-Aye, Alderman Roggensees---, Alderman Hemphill-Aye, Alderman Vincent-Aye and Alderman Johnson--Aye.. All votes Aye. Motion granted.
