ADJOURNMENT Page 1 of 12 Meeting Date: 6/27/22 Staff Contact: Joanna Skrabala, Tourism Development Specialist Agenda Item Wording: Consideration and Approval of a Remote Participation Request from WPAC Member Conor Sokolowsky Background Information: Pursuant to the code of Virginia Section 2.2-3708 and City Ordinance #19-15 Williamsburg Public Art Council Member Conor Sokolowsky has requested to participate in the June 27, 2022, WPAC meeting remotely. The WPAC must approve this request by majority vote prior to Conor Sokolowsky joining the meeting. Previous Action: None Staff Recommendation: Staff recommends that the WPAC approve the remote participation request from WPAC Member Conor Sokolowsky. Sample Motion: I move that the Williamsburg Public Art Council approve the remote participation request from Conor Sokolowsky for the June 27, 2022 WPAC meeting. Page 2 of 12 Meeting Date: 6/27/22 Staff Contact: Joanna Skrabala, Tourism Development Specialist Agenda Item Wording: Election of Officers Background Information: A Chairperson, Vice-Chairperson, and Secretary need to be elected in accordance with Ordinance #21-01 and Resolution #21-03 adopted by Williamsburg City Council on February 11, 2021. Job descriptions of each officer are outlined in the by-laws. Officers shall be elected for twelve-month terms, expiring on June 30. Previous Action: None Staff Recommendation: Election of those WPAC members who are nominated and accept and understand the duties as laid out in the proposed by-laws. Sample Motion: I move that the Williamsburg Public Art Council elect <name> as Chairperson, <name> as Vice- Chairperson, and <name> as Secretary pursuant to City Council Ordinance #21-01 and Resolution #21-03. Nassau St. Started last year as a thank you to the community for their collective strength and resilience throughout the COVID-19, Community Appreciation Day is now a new annual tradition hosted by Williamsburg’s three pillar institutions. Community Appreciation Day begins at 5 p.m. Sunday, July 3, with family-friendly lawn games such as giant Connect-4, giant chess and checkers, giant horseshoes, kick croquet, ring toss, and cornhole. Williamsburg Public Art Council is sponsoring a community art project, setting up large canvases for people of all ages to paint. This event is free and open to the public. Throughout the event, Sno-to-Go will be serving free sno-balls and ice cream. The day ends with a performance from the U.S. Air Force Heritage of America Band, part of the free Colonial Williamsburg American Music Concert Series produced in partnership with the City of Williamsburg.
