Meeting Minutes
WEDNESDAY, January 6, 2021
• CALL . T~ ORDER: Michael Sansevero called the January 6, 2021 CAAB meeting to order at 7:02p.m. in the City
Commtsston Chambers and via the Zoom Video Communications application.
• PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE: Michael led the Pledge of Allegiance .
• ROLL CALL: Johnnie took roll call: Michael Sansevero, Craig Feldman, Roger Cruttenden, and Glen Rogers were
present in the City Commission Chambers; Robert Hadley was present via the ZOOM platform.
• ADDITIONS/CHANGES/DELETIONS TO AGENDA: Michael called for any changes to the agenda- Roger
requested the addition of New Business item B.) discussion of "Smart Growth America's Equity Summit" - with this
addition, the agenda was approved.
• PRESENTATIONS/SPONSORSHIP REQUESTS: None had been received .
• APPROVAL OF MINUTES FROM THE MEETINGS OF DECEMBER 2. 2020:
The minutes of the December 2, 2020 meeting were approved unanimously.
• UPDATE FROM CITY LIAISON: Johnnie reported that he prepared a draft CAAB flyer - as requested by the City
Clerk's Office from all city board staff liaisons; and noted that CAAB's definition of diversity has been incorporated into
the City's Board Policies and Procedures document- to be presented to the Commission on January 12. Johnnie also
noted that a call for 2020 Skip Stadnik Community Spirit volunteer honorees should go into the March/ April Town Crier.
• UPDATE FROM CHAIR: Michael stated that he will make his comments on agenda items later in the meeting, and
shared his concern that, per a SFGN article, the trans community was NOT excluded from CAAB's diversity definition,
and it was CAAB's intention that "gender" included gender identity and gender expression.
• PUBLIC COMMENTS: Johnnie provided instructions on "raising your hand" in Zoom and noted that guest Hunter
Stevens and Vice Mayor Paul Rolli were in attendance, but no hands were raised. Michael thanked them for attending.
• UNFINISHED BUSINESS:
a.) Skip Stadnik Community Spirit Awards- Mike stated that we are still waiting for formal presentation in an upcoming
in-person Commission meeting. Mike asked if it would be appropriate to make formal in-person presentation to Sal
Torre, Tim Moffitt, and WiltonArt in the February CAAB meeting - all were in favor of this. Johnnie stated that
there would not be a problem with them attending in person and will reach out to all 3 to gauge their willingness to
attend the February CAAB meeting.
b.) Senior Resource Guide- Mike stated that distribution is still pending due to the Town Crier not being printed and
that many of the services are still on hold due to the COVID situation. It was determined that the guide will be
reviewed again to ensure it is accurate with re-implemented services and programs - once they are resumed.
c.) Community Relations Discussion - Mike noted that CAAB's diversity definition is included in the proposed City
Board Policy and Procedure document. All expressed approval of placement of the diversity definition in this
document. Mike asked that CAAB's gratitude be shared regarding the follow-through on CAAB's recommendations.
Roger stated that the policy document should address meeting quorum when meetings are held virtually and Mike
noted on page 4 under Board Meetings there is a typo of "bBoard"; Johnnie stated that there were a few other typos
as well, and that the City Clerk's Office is aware of them.

• NEW BUSINESS:
a.) CAAB Flyer- Mike addressed the draft CAAB flyer that Johnnie created. All expressed approval of the flyer and its
distribution although noted that when new board appointments are made an updated photo would be preferred.
b.) Smart Growth America's Equity Summit (Roger) - Roger stated that Smart Growth America's Equity Summit will be
held virtually January 26-28 and both he and the City's Economic D evelopment Manager Kim Allonce will attend the
summit; Roger will report back to CAAB.
• COMMUNICATIONS TO COMMISSION: one additionally noted .
• BOARD MEMBER REPORTS AND REQUEST FOR AGENDA ITEMS: Roger to report back on attending the
Equity Summit. Craig asked for the status on Robert's "I Am Wilton Manors" project - Robert reported that he has
about 10 videos currently but it is on hold due to COVID - he will share the link to his private Youtube.com page
postings of the videos.
• NEXT SCHEDULED MEETING DATE: Wednesday, February 3, at 7pm - Chambers/ZOOM hybrid .
• ADJOURNMENT:
Mike adjourned the meeting at 7:42p.m.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Wilton Manors Community Affairs Advisory Board (CAAB) will be
conducting a virtual meeting utilizing communications media technology (“CMT”) in accordance with City of
Wilton Manors Ordinance No. 2020-11 and City of Wilton Manors 4/24/20 Emergency Order 2020-05, as amended
by Emergency Orders 2020-12 and 2020-16, related to conducting local government public meetings while under
the health emergency related to the spread of Novel Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19).
PUBLIC ACCESS TO THIS VIRTUAL MEETING CAN BE ACCOMPLISHED AS FOLLOWS:

Any member of the public wishing to comment publicly on any matter may participate by:
-Submitting Public Comment via email: PRIOR to the start of the meeting, submit comments by email to
jgoodnight@wiltonmanors.com. Please include your name and address in the email. All comments
submitted by email comment length shall be, if read orally, three (3) minutes or less. Public Comment
received by 3pm prior to the start of the meeting will be read into the record by CAAB Staff
Liaison/Secretary Johnnie Goodnight. All other comments submitted by email prior to the start of the
meeting shall be made a part of the public record.
-Participating in Meeting: Log-in to Zoom via browser, app or phone. During Public Comment portion of
the agenda use Raise Hand feature to be called on. Raise Hand feature can be activated by selecting the
