Library Advisory Board City of Wilton Manors Monda~April22,2019 Minutes Call to Order Meeting was called to order at 5:34 pm Roll Call Board Members Barbara Gail Cuthbertson Fred Johnson Emily McCrater Bennett Quade Betty Payton Betty Winslow-Absent Lillian Robertson-Absent Todd Zoellick Carol Clark via Telephone Richard Sterling, Library Director Approval of Minutes • The minutes from January 7, 2019 were reviewed. • Motion to approve by Todd Zoellick and Second Barbara Gail Cuthbertson Unfinished Business • The Board reviewed the Goals and Accomplishments prepared by Todd Zoellick. Todd mentioned that the report must be in the format/ template that the City provided. The Board discussed items to add to the report: o Collection Fees - advocate w/ City Finance to ensure money collected on the Library's behalf comes back to the Library to replace lost or damaged materials. • Board will review updated report at next meeting. Library Directors Report Director Richard Sterling presented his report which included the following: • During the second quarter there were 9049 items checked out of the Library by 2631 users, a decrease of 148 users over the same period last year. Children checked out 10.4% of these items. There were 2817 computer sessions totaling 1689 hours, 72.4% of the usage was on adult computers, 13.8% in the children's room, 13.8% at the express stations. English accounted for 99.4% of all sessions, with ?each in Spanish, 2 each in Hebrew, Finnish and Icelandic, and 1 each in Vietnamese, French, Turkish, Danish and German. There were 744 people in attendance at various programs. • The Library's public computers will be replaced in the upcoming weeks. The Friends of the Library are reimbursing the City for the costs of the replacements. • Richard Sterling provided a copy of the full report to the Board. New Business • FY2020 Budget- Richard Sterling handed out a copy of the budget schedule. The proposed budget is due back to finance on April 30.
