6/15/2023 - Minutes I. Call to Order Brian Borah Taking notes: Dallas Wheatley T II. Public Comment None F III. Approve Previous Meeting Minutes Unable to vote on prior notes due to only one person from the prior meeting in attendance today. IV. Commission Member Re-Appointments A l YEA: Peter Wernsdorfer, Emily Corley, Nick Woolfe, Michelle Metzler l NAY: Jason Williams, Dallas Wheatley, Brian Borah l Hybrid meetings are much more possible moving forward, and day of the week may be able to be changed based on group availability. Chair and Officer Assignments Chair D l Peter Wernsdorfer ¡ Nominated by Dallas ¡ Seconded by Nick Woolfe ¡ Nomination accepted ¡ Passed unanimously l Vice Chair ¡ Michelle Metzler staying on l Secretary ¡ Will wait for next meeting to appoint. VI. FY24 Work Plan Discussion l Would like more info on O’Brien Community Center plan before MIC can provide consult on plan. l What are community requirements for walking/biking in Winooski? We can send out link to survey to gauge community needs. Survey still open! Survey link: https://www.ccrpcvt.org/our-work/transportation/current-projects/walk-bike/winooski-walk- bike-plan/ l Dallas questions the ability to add needle deposit boxes on municipal property for areas in Winooski to improve public safety. Probably a Safe, Healthy, Connected People topic. l Dallas suggests adding bike racks near bus stops or parking garages. Committee discussed. Perhaps bring to Inclusion and Belonging Group for placement help? l Can we provide more incentives to adults for biking? To either alleviate cost of bike or to bike-plan/ l Dallas questions the ability to add needle deposit boxes on municipal property for areas in Winooski to improve public safety. There are already incentives for electric bikes/bike share from CCRPC. l Lafountain/Dion Street Update DOES need commission input, there was a misprint on Committee Agenda. VII. Council Liaison Updates T l Juneteenth is being recognized with a ceremony on Sunday afternoon in The Circle. l Pride event success from last year being brought back this year. VIII. Staff Liaison Updates F l Abenaki Parking Garage tentatively starting construction in August. l Environmental Notice Bulletin (ENB) can alert users about various permits and upcoming construction projects. Currently ONLY place to register public comment/appeal. A l MIC will not meet in July as we attempt to fill seats and await more agenda items. Plan for third Thursday of August at 6:30, hybrid meeting. IX. Adjourn D R
