Utility Board Meeting July 18, 2022 NOTICE AND CALL OF PUBLIC MEETING Government Body: Winterset Municipal Utilities Date of Meeting: July 18, 2022 Time of Meeting: 8:30 A.M. Place of Meeting: Electric Generation Plant, 321 N. 1st St. PUBLIC NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN the above-mentioned governmental body will meet at the date, time and place above set out. The tentative agenda for said meeting is as follows: AGENDA: 1. Call to order, roll call 2. Approval of agenda 3. Minutes of meetings 4. General Manager Report 5. Tom Leners, MCDG 6. Claims Added items for discussion… The Board of Trustees of the Winterset Municipal Utilities, Winterset, Iowa, met on May 16, 2022, in accordance with the above Notice & Call of Public Meeting. Chairman Gary Emmert called the meeting to order with the following members of the Board in attendance. PRESENT: Gary Emmert, Wendy Frost ABSENT: Steve Montross Others in attendance, Steve Benshoof, Utility Water Superintendent, Chuck Johnson, Utility Electric Superintendent, and Tom Leners. Chairman Emmert asked for approval of the agenda. Trustee Frost moved the agenda be approved. Seconded by Trustee Emmert. On a voice vote the motion carried. Chairman Emmert stated the minutes from the June 20th meeting had been provided to the board. Trustee Frost moved to approve the minutes. Seconded by Trustee Emmert. On a voice vote the motion carried. Mr. Wesselmann was asked to give his report to the board. Mr. Wesselmann stated that he has been working with Mr. Benshoof on his transition to city hall. Mr. Wesselmann reported that he has finished up a few items for the auditor. Mr. Wesselmann stated that Bob Hendricks has retired, and his job is being done by an engineering company. Chairman Emmert asked Mr. Leners to give his report on the MCDG. Mr. Leners reported on his monthly activities and discussed possible development opportunities with the board. Chairman Emmert asked Mr. Streeter to address the next agenda item, Watershed discussion. Mr. Wesselmann stated that Mr. Streeter was on vacation. Mr. Wesselmann reported that Mr. Streeter indicated he was working with a landowner on terrace repairs. Chairman Emmert asked Mr. Wesselmann to address the next agenda item, Farabee Pay request #2. Mr. Wesselmann stated that he had received a pay request from Farabee Mechanical for the amount of $178,795.00. Mr. Wesselmann reported that the engineer had certified it for payment. Trustee Frost moved to approve the payment Utility Board Meeting July 18, 2022 of $178,795.00 to Farabee Mechanical. The motion seconded by Trustee Emmert. On a voice vote the motion carried. Mr. Benshoof was asked to give the report on the water department. Mr. Benshoof presented the written report to the board and reported that they have been treating the lake each week for algae. Mr. Benshoof stated that the AGS tank painting and repair was complete, and it was back in service. Mr. Benshoof reported that Lagoon #2 is being cleaned out. Mr. Johnson was asked to give the report on the electric department. Mr. Johnson presented the written report to the board and reported that they have installed the underground wire for the Stover development. Mr. Johnson stated that the control panels, wires, and smokestack footings for the new engines have been installed. Mr. Johnson reported that they have started setting the larger poles for the 4G electronics. Chairman Emmert stated that he had reviewed the claims. Trustee Emmert moved to approve the following list of claims. Seconded by Trustee Frost.
