CDICR Minutes – Town Hall, Room 2, First Floor. Sept 14, 2022 6:00 PM (Commission for Diversity, Inclusion, and Community Relations) Attendees: Andrea Baez, (chair); Walter Connelly (sec); Suzanne Martucci-Gallo; John Morgan; John Bentley. Also in attendance: Town Manager Tony Marino, Police Chief Terry Delahanty, John Munson, Lee Foley, Daniella Foley, Todd Sacco 1. Roll Call 6:00 PM 2. Minutes from May and June meetings  Approved 3. Tree on Somerset.  Commissioner John Morgan reported on his inspection of the tree on Somerset as a disabled person. Very dangerous physical situation for a blind person.  Possibility of a neighborhood meeting for input.  Town Manager Marino outlined situation and possible options.  The Commission’s concern is that the present position of the Town Council to save the tree by creating a bump out or two crosswalks is an ableist position.  Commission will voice its concern at upcoming Town Council meeting. 4. Traffic Stop follow-up. Meredith Hurley  Meredith Hurley reported to Commissioner Baez that the BU group will examine the traffic stop concerns and info. 5. Facebook “Comments” will have to be approved.  Primarily for event sharing (in which case comments are not necessary).  Postings will be run by other members of the Commission.  Motion to also establish an Instagram account – passed.  Motion to post on social media with consensus of members – passed. 6. Civil Rights Officer  Detective Carter reviews the daily reports for possible concerns. 7. Public Comment:  Official email for Commission has been fixed.   Past Minutes on website. (may have been attached to agenda in the past)  Commission encouraged to voice its concern re Somerset tree at Council Town Meeting.  Community Needs Health Assessment should be made available in several languages when completed.  Additional Commission members still needed. 8.
