Box A * Withee, Wisconsin 54498 The Village of Withee Board met on August 11, 2025, in the Municipal Building Conference Room at 6:30 pm for the regular board meeting. ROLL CALL-President Klabon called the meeting to order. Roll call was answered by Klabon, Trustees Shelton, Amacher, Kroeplin, and Kalepp. Clerk Niemi recorded the minutes. Also present were DPW Derek Schad and Cindy Cardinal. MINUTES-A Kalepp/Amacher motion to approve the minutes of July 14, 2025, regular meeting carried with all ayes. FINANCIAL STATEMENTS-A Shelton/Kroeplin motion to approve the monthly financial statements for the General, Water, and Sewer Accounts carried with all ayes. Trustee Amacher asked about video fees aid which is aid from the Department of Revenue for monies not received from cable provider fees. PAYMENT OF BILLS-An Amacher/Shelton motion to approve General Account checks 37309 thru 37335, Water Account checks 7542 thru 7554, and Sewer Account checks 2623 thru 2624 and online payments as presented carried with all ayes. Clerk Niemi noted the 2% fire dues being issued to the O-W-C Fire District and the bill for gravel base and trucking for Hixwood Road from the Town of Longwood. PAYROLL REPORT-The board reviewed the employee time cards and payroll report. COMMUNITY INPUT-Trustee Kroeplin had a resident ask about solicitors’ rules in the Village. Clerk Niemi will review any requirements. COMMITTEE REPORT-Clerk Niemi told the members of the O-W Police Committee there is a September 16, 2025, meeting at 6 pm scheduled. Trustee Amacher discussed the Harvest Moon flier of events and food establishments prepared by the CCEDC. POLICE REPORT-There was no police report. DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS-DPW Derek Schad reported that he purchased a battery for the 1992 Intl dump truck as it sold for $2,525 and will be picked up by the purchaser. He finished ditch mowing and continues killing weeds. Currently the general company subsidizes the sewer company when the sewer company should be self-sustaining. Wes Hoem of the Great Lakes Community Action Partnership prepared a sewer rate analysis to show the various rates of increases to apply to sewer meters and sewer volume to reach solvency. Since 2020, the Village has only raised rates according to the City of Owen’s increases. This hasn’t increased funds for necessary repairs. The board requested Hoem attend the next meeting to answer questions and Clerk Niemi prepare a rough estimate of how much the increase could cost residents. A Kroeplin/Kalepp motion to allow DPW Schad and Clerk Niemi to purchase safety items to be paid by the $600 2025 LWMMI Safety Grant program carried with all ayes. A Kalepp/Amacher motion to adjourn at 7:27 pm carried with all ayes.
