Call to Order: 5:03 P.M.
Roll Call:
Present: Melissa Cardinale (Town Liaison), Ned Fluet (Town Council Member), Thomas Johnson (Co-Chair), Kit Colman
(Co-Chair), Lisa Keith, Lisa Carr (minutes), Elizabeth Fergason, Vicki Coe Mitchell, Suzie Larwood, and Vanessa Nell.
Quorum: Met
Not Present: Bev Iverson, Corinne Ruokangas, Terri Butler, Brandon Vorrath
Attending via Zoom: Marcela De Alcazar, Hank Upton
Public Communications: None
Approve Minutes: May 11, 2023 – Approved
Old Business:
June First Friday Event “Killer Whale vs. White Shark” with Mary Jane Schramm was well received.
Thanks to Jessica and Kit for facilitating the prior video recording of Ms. Schramm and to Tom for
excellent hosting.
The Town of Woodside approved an increase for the First Friday Event Honorarium from $300 to $350.
New Business:
1. Sign Up Sheet for July 7 Event - passed to Committee members.
2. Discussion for possible changes to event responsibilities. Lisa K., Vicki, and Kit agreed to form a
subcommittee which will draft a proposal to present at the July meeting.
3. Discussion of the Town’s June 6 Engagement Fair, noting low attendance from the public and comments
that a few members of other Town committees are unaware of First Friday events.
4. Discussion of new ideas to advertise First Friday events. Ned Fluet will inquire about including a WACC flyer in
the quarterly Woodsider.
5. Review and Approve new First Friday Event applications. The following presenters were approved:
WORDSIDE (10/6/23), Katherine Wright (1/5/24), Barbara Wood (3/1/24), Plein Art Show (4/5/24), WES
Music (5/3/24), Mitch Postel (6/7/24), Karen Peterson (9/6/24), Jim Caldwell (10/4/24), Tyler McNiven
(11/1/24), Zeny Cieslikowski (date open). Conditional approval pending application: Lamplighters (2/2/24).
6. Request for new applications for July, August, and December 2024.
7. Thanks to Vicki for new committee name tags.
