Woodside Arts & Culture Committee Town of Woodside November 9, 2023 5:00 p.m. FINAL MINUTES Call to Order- 5:02 P.M. Roll Call - Suzie Larwood, Vanessa Nell, Marcela Del Alcazar, Thomas Johnson (Co-Chair), Kit Colman (Co-Chair), Corinne Ruokangas, Melissa Cardinale (Town Liaison), Bev Iverson, Vicki Coe Mitchell and Maddie, Terri Butler (Minutes), Lisa Keith and Ned Fluet (Council Liaison) Not Present – Brandon Vorrath, Elizabeth Fergason, Lisa Carr and Hank Upton Public Communications – None Approve Minutes: October 12, 2023 – Minutes were approved with correction. Old Business: 1. Review November event – Erin Gleeson – Local author and photographer of cookbooks. Audience appreciated her slide presentation and sales post presentation. Thank you, Ned, for bringing her to the Committee’s attention! Thank you, Jessica, for providing our new backdrop that increases our already professional events. Corinne noted that the recent YouTube postings have lacked “tags”. Tom to follow up with Jessica to add tags which help users with the search function. New Business: 1. Sign up for December Event – Sign-up sheet for future events was passed. Terri asked if those signing could use their full name and not initials. 2. Discussion for possible additional events – Lisa Keith reminded members to take PR postcards for placement at retail and high traffic areas. Lisa will bring the original list of postcard placement (pre-Covid) for our review and use at the December meeting. Melissa will check if PR notices can be placed outside of Town Hall in Lucite boxes. Suzie asked Lisa K if Mountain Home Magazine can print the FF events and dates. Lisa will be looking into that! a. Vicki advised of upcoming changes at The Woodside Village Church. Pastor Ama is leaving, and the annual Holiday Gift Faire is cancelled for 2023. It was asked if WACC would consider hosting the music portion of the Gift Faire at Independence Hall as the musicians have been retained and are performing gratis. A motion was passed to have Vicki research the possibility of having the event December 22 and bring back to WACC at the December meeting for approval. b. Lisa Keith, has again, graciously offered to host a holiday party for WACC. Thank you, Lisa! 3. Subcommittee reports – Tom – Presented to Council an overview of activities. No questions or comments from Council. 4. Review hours – Reminder to members to submit their volunteer time to Suzie monthly. Hours are noted for the calendar month in .25-hour increments. 5. Discuss updating website – If there are changes or additions members would like to see implemented – please bring to the December meeting. The QR code is functioning and when used takes the user to Woodside Arts and Culture Committee’s YouTube site. 6. Review Calendar - Tom has reached out to past presenters of History of Chocolate and Robert Buelteman. Mr. Buelteman will return in 2025. a. Pieter Folkens and Bill Leikam are interested in returning. b. Marcela asked if there was interest in a presenter to discuss Day of the Dead, Fernando Escartiz in August 2024. (There is great interest.) c. Bev advised that Woodside Elementary will again participate in a Spring First Friday as they did prior to Covid! (May 2024) d. Vicki advised Chris Costanza is pending. e. Kathy Korbholz has committed to February 2025 and Robert Bueltman has committed to March 2025. Meeting Adjourned – 5:50 P.M.
