Town of Woodside 2955 Woodside Road Woodside, CA 94062 Woodside Livestock and Equestrian Heritage Committee May 24, 2023 5:30 pm Final Minutes Call to Order 5:57 PM Roll Call: Kristina Chancholo, Fentress Hall, Philip Bellamy, John Matheny, & Lexi Bartlo Zoom: Diane Garcia Members Absent: Melinda Stoker, Susie Dorsey, Sharon Butler, Nancy Atkinson Guests: Melissa Cardinale Approval of Minutes from April 26, 2023. Lexi Bartlo approved and Fentress Hall 2nd with the corrections made. Unanamoisly approved with changes. Old Business: 1. Safety Projects – Continue discussion of or updates on existing issues and town operations a. Melissa Cardinale to report on alternate process for policing parking on roadside trails. TOW internal process to call the Sheriff’s non-emergency line - (650) 364- 1811. Can the town provide or install “No Parking” signs on main trail arteries, and also horse right-of-way signs? Melissa Cardinale spoke to Sean Rose and TOW staff and they advised for riders to take a photo of the vehicles parked on the horse/pedestrian trails and note the location. Identify any company logo or information on the vehicle. Location is very important so TOW staff can go and observe the area and decide whether or not “No Parking” signs should be placed and where. Staff will see if there is truly not enough space for equestrians to pass. Fentress Hall proposed a “Trail Yield” sign to put on cars who park on the trails as a reminder to not park there. Melissa will see if she can get approval from TOW on this and add the TOW logo to it. Fentress offered to order them once she gets the approved artwork. Only Trail Committee members and LEHC members will be handing out small decals. Fentress asked about a newsletter that tells what the committees are doing. Melissa will add LEHC to the TOW website list and a “subscribe” option will have such information. b. Can the town provide No Parking signs for construction sites and for construction companies? See above. 2. Educational Projects – Discussion of or updates on existing projects related to public outreach such as signage, website, booklets, publications  a. Follow up to LEHC/ LAEG hosted educational forum. Nothing new to report and this can be removed from the agenda. b. Review new subcommittee projects and priorities. Public Outreach. Safety and Facilities. No new updates on subcommittees. New Business: 1. Election of Chair and Vice Chair. John Matheny said he would be Co-Chair with another member. LEHC will ask Susie Dorsey if she wants to be Co-Chair. If not, Lexi Bartlo said she would be Co-Chair with leading the LEHC agenda every other month. Philip Bellamy motioned for Fentress Hall to be Chair Pro Tempore and John Matheny to be Vice Chair. Lexi 2nd. All in favor. 2. We welcomed two new members. Will a third be joining? Julia McDonald will be approached to join LEHC and John Matheny will ask Karen Flores and Fentress Hall will ask Perri Guthrie. 3. Reminder: Volunteer Engagement Fair on June 6th, 4:30-6:00.
