‬ ‭1. ‭Schedule meeting with Town staff to resolve constraints on process for reporting i‭mproper parking. ‭a. ‭This meeting was not scheduled prior to Sean Rose’s retirement and will ‭now be scheduled with his interim or permanent replacement. ‭b. ‭The Subcommittee will consider bringing one or more specific proposals to ‭the meeting to facilitate the discussion. ‭Educational Projects‬ ‭1. ‭Status of revised booklet – Keeping Horses in Woodside ‭a.‬ ‭Diane has drafted a new standalone chapter on Emergency Evacuation‬ ‭and requests comments from the overall Committee.‬ ‭b.‬ ‭Melinda will contact the publisher of‬‭Keeping Horses‬‭in Woodside‬‭to‬ ‭discuss design guidelines and other requirements to facilitate layout and‬ ‭printing.‬ ‭c.‬ ‭Phillip will be drafting additional content on biosecurity to include in the‬ ‭booklet.‬ ‭d.‬ ‭Fentress will kick off an overall review of‬‭Keeping‬‭Horses in Woodside‬‭by‬ ‭the Subcommittee.‬ ‭Review of Subcommittee Projects‬ ‭1.‬ ‭Public Outreach‬ ‭a.‬ ‭Review Subcommittee membership relative to recent activities‬ i‭.‬ ‭Meaningful activites since the last meeting: a barn inspection, a‬ ‭field inspection as a response to an escalation to the Town, the‬ ‭publishing of an article in the Almanac, and a revised charter‬ ‭proposal.‬ ‭b.‬ ‭Review submission to Woodsider‬ i‭.‬ ‭Nothing significant to report.‬ ‭c.‬ ‭Review LEHC charter wording and proposed draft of revisions for vote‬ i‭.‬ ‭Nancy made a motion to rename the Committee to‬‭Livestock‬‭and‬ ‭Equine Heritage Committee‬‭, with Susan seconding. All‬‭members‬ ‭were in favor.‬ i‭i.‬ ‭John made a motion to accept the charter wording as proposed,‬ ‭with Diane seconding. All members approved.‬ ‭2.‬ ‭Health and Safety‬ ‭a.‬ ‭Review Subcommittee membership relative to recent activities‬ i‭.‬ ‭Nothing significant to report.‬ ‭b.‬ ‭Report status of recent request for field support‬ i‭.‬ ‭Nothing significant to report.‬ ‭c.‬ ‭Report status of recent urgent permit request‬ i‭.‬ ‭Nothing significant to report.‬ ‭New Business‬ ‭Day of the Horse‬ ‭Nothing significant to report.‬ ‭Recruiting‬ ‭Nothing significant to report.‬ ‭Review and discuss modifications or not to Subcommittee responsibilities and‬ ‭membership‬ ‭1.‬ ‭Going forward subcommittee assignments will be as follows:‬ ‭a.‬ ‭Public Outreach: Fentress, Melinda, John, Philip‬ ‭b.‬ ‭Health & Safety: Christina, Diane, Philip, Susan‬ ‭2.‬ ‭Above Subcommittees will review proposed mission statements to the next‬ ‭Committee meeting.‬ ‭Recruiting‬ ‭Nothing significant to report.‬ ‭Member Communications‬ ‭1.‬ ‭Susie sat in on a recent Trails Committee meeting, with John planning to attend‬ i‭n October, Melinda in November, and Diane in December.‬ ‭Adjournment‬ ‭Diane moved to adjourn the meeting with Lexi seconding. The meeting was adjourned‬ ‭at 6:55 PM.‬ ‭Livestock and Equine Heritage Committee‬ ‭The Livestock and Equine Heritage Committee serves as a resource supporting‬ ‭Woodside’s charter, its residents, the planning and building department, and Town‬ ‭Council. LEHC provides critical information and best practices for keeping diverse‬ l‭ivestock and enriching our exceptional rural lifestyle.‬ ‭The Committee develops helpful guidelines for the construction and maintenance of‬ ‭barns and paddocks that protect the health and safety of horses and other commonly‬ ‭kept livestock. Public outreach from the Committee includes emergency preparedness,‬ l‭iaison with County and volunteer organizations, and on-site problem solving support for‬ ‭owners or potential owners of livestock.‬
