Town of Woodside 2955 Woodside Road Woodside, CA 94062 Woodside Livestock and Equine Heritage Committee February 28, 2024 5:30 pm Final Minutes Call to Order: 5:35 pm Roll Call: Present: Kristina Chancholo (arrived at 5:50 pm), Lexi Bartlo, Nancy Atkinson, Susan Dorsey, Fentress Hall, John Matheney, Meredith Weideman, Philip Bellamy Absent: Sharon Butler, Melinda Stoker Public Communications: Anne Van Camp reported from the Trails Committee on trails that will be worked on, upgraded. Parking on the trails comes back to their meetings often. It’s an ongoing issue. Approval of Minutes from January 24, 2024. Lexi Bartlo approved, Fentress 2nd Old Business: 1. Health and Safety– Report from Subcommittee. Continuing discussion on existing issues and town operations such as improper parking on trails, stabling, environmental impact on livestock. a. Review of barn permit inspection process and LEHC role in guiding staff, committees and residents. Sage Schaan to present town perspective and open discussion with committee. Sage reported on the three stages for barn review. The conceptual stage is presented to the whole LEHC committee. The formal stage is next. Then the construction stage. He went over the process of what happens when the Subcommittee does a barn review. The Town is pleased with use of the LEHC Subcommittee for time sensitive requests and field participation. Staff will provide written procedures for LEHC review of projects. b. Meeting with town on guidelines for parking on trails, pending new staff. Yaz Emrani on board, delay meeting until up to speed. Consider joint project with Trails Committee. This will go on next month’s agenda until accomplished. c. Review Subcommittee membership- New Subcommittee lead/chair is Nancy Atkinson. Diane Garcia resigned. 2. Public Outreach – Report from Subcommittee. Continuing discussion on existing issues related to educational projects such as signage, website, publications, accomplishments of local equestrians. a. Status of revisions to booklet – Keeping Horses in Woodside. Members are still working on their chapters. The Subcommittee has not met since the last meeting in January. b. Status of FAQ booklet on navigating building process, update. Sage and Committee confirmed usefulness of FAQ booklet. Will consider if there is a need for improved correlation of checklists and municipal codes. c. Status of review of new website. Members are encouraged to review the website New Business: 1. Staffing and recruiting. Try to get new applicants. Member Communications 1. Report from Trails Committee meeting. Fentress mentioned to Barry about forming a joint committee to address the nails on the trails and parking on the trails.
