THE BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT OF THE CITY OF WOODWARD, WOODWARD COUNTY, OKLAHOMA MET IN REGULAR SESSION IN THE COMMISSION CHAMBERS OF CITY HALL ON WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 13, 2017, AT 1:30 P.M. (In compliance with the Oklahoma Open Meetings Act, Title 25 of the Oklahoma State Statutes, meeting notice and agenda were filed with the Office of the City Clerk at 8:25 a.m., and posted at City Hall at 8:30 a.m. on December 4, 2017.) Chairman Tom Fisher called the meeting to order, declaring a quorum present. PRESENT: Tom Fisher Chairman Burk Rowley Member Dave Hughes Member Catherine Coleman Secretary David Smith Director of Community Development Aaron Sims City Attorney Justin Stephenson Guest ABSENT: Darrin Kline Member Shane Smithton Member Alan Riffel City Manager The minutes of the April 12, 2017, Regular Meeting were considered by the Board. Dave Hughes made a motion, seconded by Burk Rowley, to approve the minutes as presented. ROLL CALL AYES: Hughes, Rowley, Fisher NAYS: None ABSENT: Smithton, Kline The motion carried. The first item on the agenda was to consider and take action with respect to an application submitted by Justin Stephenson for variance to place a house on the below described property. The proposed house would be placed Ten Feet (10’) beyond the Twenty Five Feet (25’) front back-set building line pursuant to Section 154.024(C) of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Woodward, Oklahoma. The property is in a C-1 Zone (Neighborhood Shopping District) located at 812 20th St., Lots Two (2), Three (3), Six (6), Seven (7), & Nine (9), and the abandoned railroad right – of – way in the west half of Block Seventeen (17), Original Townsite of Woodward, to the City of Woodward, Woodward County, Oklahoma. Director David Smith explained that Mr. Stephenson would like to move a house currently located south of his insurance business on 9th Street to the location at 812 20th Street. He indicated that the location, at the corner of Santa Fe and 20th Street would be a good fit for the neighborhood. City Attorney Sims related that he did not see any issues with the request, and City Clerk Coleman reported that no protests had been received. Following discussion, Burk Rowley made a motion, seconded by Dave Hughes, to approve the application. ROLL CALL AYES: Rowley, Hughes, Fisher NAYS: None ABSENT: Smithton, Kline The motion carried.
