Announce the presence ofa Quorum.
The meeting was called to order by Arts Coordinator Carole Ehrlich at 6: 01 pm. Members present included:
Anita Jones, Gloria Suarez, Cheryl Mabry, Joshua Smith and Pat Bentine. Steve Shank was absent.
DISCUSSION ITEMS
1.
Discussion regarding Art for the Municipal Complex Walking Trails Entry.
Panel/ Citizen Input
Artists Katy Antill and Madeline Weiner were present to hear from the public and staff regarding art for
the walking trails. Artist Eileen Gay was present streaming.
Those in attendance spoke to the artist with regards to having a piece that would introduce the visitors to
the Blackland Prairie and would summarize some of the history that will be seen as they walk the trails.
Also noted was identifiable history that included Native Americans, animals and prairie vegetation that
existed here many years ago. They spoke of wanting something that was substantial, that complemented
the area surrounding the art and sustainable for many years.
Artists thanked those present for their input and will now have time to build a sample of the design plan
they wish to use. They will meet again to present their ideas on September 15, 2022. Presentations are
open to the public.

DISCUSSION ITEMS
DS1. Input and discussion will take place for the 3 semi-final artists regarding the art for the Municipal Walking
Trails Entry piece. The pubic is invited to make comments to the semi-final artists who will be in attendance,
regarding what they would like to see as the entry piece to the Municipal Walking Trails. This piece will be
located at the fork in the trail behind Wylie City Hall and Recreation Center.
No action will be taken however we encourage the pubic to attend. Semi-final artists include: Madeline
Wiener, Eileen Gay and Kathryn B. Antill.
