Park Board Yukon Park Board Minutes October 16, 2024 The Yukon Park Board met in regular session at 6:00 pm on Wednesday, October 16th, at the Dale Robertson Center, 1200 Lakeshore Drive, Yukon, Oklahoma 73099. I. Call to Order Joe Edwards, Chairman – Ward 1, called the meeting to order. II. Visitors/Special Guests/Public Comments None IV. Approval of the minutes from September 18, 2024 The board began by reading the minutes from the September 18th meeting. Joe Edwards motioned, Carrie Sharp moved, and Stephen Nelson seconded. Passed. V. Parks and Recreation Department Report and Project Update City of Yukon | P. O. Box 850500 | Yukon, OK 73085  Park Board Parks and Recreation Department Reports and Project Updates 1. City Updates a. New City Manager – Mike Castro started on 9/23 2. Projects a. Current Projects i. Jackie Cooper Gym Update 1. New desk has been installed at new location, one water fountain removed, vending machine moved, staff desks moved into manager’s office 2. Program room flooring will be updated, walls re-painted, and new décor added 3. Considering window additions ii. JCG sign repair iii. Chisholm Trail Park sidewalk repairs b. Upcoming Projects i. Freedom Trail Restroom 1. Grant approval to be considered by City Council ii. Horseshoe building 1. Will be added at the horseshoe pits iii. Hilcrest Park Playground iv. Kimbell Pavilion v. Stephen Nelson – Good job, and thanks to Shelby and the Dale Robertson Center staff for the snacks. He can’t wait for the DRC tour to see the changes. c. Carrie Sharp – Great job on everything. She loves seeing families be families at events and in the parks. d. Tim Rhodes – Great job, everyone, and take the days of rest. Excited about the expansion of baseball. e. Joe Edwards – Good job, and keep it up. Joe visited Freedom Trail with grandkids, and they enjoyed themselves.
