THE TRAFFIC AND TRANSPORTATION COMMISSION
THE TRAFFIC AND TRANSPORTATION COMMISSION MET IN REGULAR SESSION ON
AUGUST 11, 2020 AT THE CENTENNIAL BUILDING IN THE CITY COUNCIL
CONFERENCE ROOM. THE MEETING WAS HELD AT 6:30 PM.

ITEM 1: DISCUSS AND APPROVE THE MINUTES OF THE
JUNE 9, 2020 TRAFFIC COMMISSION MEETING.
Motion for minutes to be approved:
Motion – James Montgomery
Second – Charlie Lee
The motion passed unanimously.
ITEM 2: VISITORS - None
ITEM 3: PRESENTATION, DISCUSSION AND POSSIBLE ACTION
REGARDING A CREATIVE CROSSWALK ON NORTH 5TH STREET
This item was been pulled at the request of the Yukon Main
Street Director because she could not attend. It will be
placed on a future agenda.
Mr. Montgomery stated he has spoken with them about the
project. Mr. Lee would like them to bring the dimensions of
the panels to the presentation.

ITEM 4: DISCUSS TRAFFIC CONCERNS
Mr. Lee stated the east/west light at Main and Yukon Parkway
stays on as well as the north/south light at Cornwell and Main.
Mr. Montgomery thought they might have been retimed.
Mr. Lee stated the southbound stop sign at 6th and Elm is
faded.
Mr. Peters had no discussion.
Mr. Montgomery asked if there are any future plans to stripe
streets. He would like to see 10th Street and Yukon Parkway
from Hwy 4 to Main. Mr. Lee would like to include the lane
lines on Parkway in front of Life Church.
Mr. Peters was welcomed to the Commission. Mr. Peters, Mr.
Montgomery and Mr. Lee each gave a short introduction of
their backgrounds.
General traffic discussion of crosswalks at Cornwell and Main,
Hwy 4 project, 11th Street drainage improvements and the
Red Bird Coffee House parking lot was had by all.

The next meeting will be Tuesday, September 8, 2020.
