Minutes THE TRAFFIC AND TRANSPORTATION COMMISSION THE TRAFFIC AND TRANSPORTATION COMMISSION MET IN REGULAR SESSION ON NOVEMBER 10, 2020 AT THE CENTENNIAL BUILDING IN THE CITY COUNCIL CONFERENCE ROOM. THE MEETING WAS HELD AT 6:30 PM. AUGUST 11, 2020 REGULAR TRAFFIC COMMISSION MEETING B. SEPTEMBER 16, 2020 SPECIAL TRAFFIC COMMISSION MEETING C. OCTOBER 13, 2020 REGULAR TRAFFIC COMMISSION MEETING Motion for minutes of Items A thru C to be approved: Motion – Tom Thomas Second – Brad Downing The motion passed unanimously. ITEM 2: VISITORS - None Traffic Commission – November 10, 2020 Page 2 ITEM 3: DISCUSSION REGARDING A CITIZEN’S REQUEST TO CLOSE BRYCE CANYON COURT IN PARKLAND 2 AT 10TH STREET Richard Riebe, 2417 Acadia Court, presented his request to close Bryce Canyon Court at 10th Street due to the security concerns once the construction of the mixed use development being constructed directly across 10th Street to the south. Traffic Commissioners discussed access points, changes to traffic entering the remaining open access points, possibility of increased traffic through Stone Mill and emergency access. Commissioners would like to see the recommendations of City Officials including Fire, Police, Public Works and Development Services. ITEM 4: DISCUSS TRAFFIC CONCERNS Mr. Peters stated he is attending the next Fraternal Order of Police meeting and will bring any traffic concerns from the meeting to the next Traffic meeting. Mr. Thomas, Mr. Montgomery and Mr. Downing had no concerns. Mr. Lee stated the westbound left turn was locked on at Cornwell & Main, possibly the north/south as well. The westbound left turn was locked on at Main & Yukon Parkway. The northbound left turn was stuck at the high school. General traffic discussion regarding the intersection of 10th and Holly as well as the traffic on 10th around Gold’s Gym. ITEM 5: DATE FOR NEXT MEETING: The next meeting will be Tuesday, December 8, 2020. ITEM 6: ADJOURNMENT
