Minutes THE TRAFFIC AND TRANSPORTATION COMMISSION THE TRAFFIC AND TRANSPORTATION COMMISSION MET IN REGULAR SESSION ON JULY 13TH, 2021 AT THE CENTENNIAL BUILDING IN THE CITY COUNCIL CONFERENCE ROOM. THE MEETING WAS HELD AT 6:30 PM. INVOCATION: James Montgomery FLAG SALUTE: In unison ROLL CALL: James Montgomery Charlie Lee Tim Peters Tom Thomas – Absent Brad Downing CITY OFFICIALS: Arnold Adams, Public Works Director Brittany Stinnett, Public Works ITEM 1: Discuss and approve the minutes: A. April 13th, 2021 Regular Traffic Commission Meeting B. June 8th, 2021 Regular Traffic Commission Meeting Motion for minutes to be approved: Motion – James Montgomery Second – Tim Peters The motion passed unanimously. ITEM 2: VISITORS - Jacque & Jarrod Owens Smoking Oaks Addition Traffic Commission – July 13th, 2021 Page 1 ITEM3: Discuss additional signage on both sides of Yukon Ave from 9th St. to S Holly Ave regarding no parking during school pick up and drop off time. James Montgomery – Signage times 7:30am to 8:30am and 3:00pm to 4:00pm, wants to send letter to resident along Yukon Ave preventing parking on the street during the agreed times. Charlie Lee – agrees with times for signage, and for letter to be sent. Brad Downing – Agrees with times for signage, and for letter to be sent. Tim Peters – Agrees with times for signage, and for letter to be sent. Arnold Adams – gave update of school times and signage times listed, also informed them of current signage posted West of 9th St to Garth Brooks Blvd. ITEM 4: Discuss adding stop signs East and West on Dover Mansion at Oasis Ln to help with increased speeding traffic. Visitor- Jacque & Jarrod Owens, Residents of Smoking Oaks addition. Concerned with the increased traffic and traffic speeds. They feel unsafe in the front yard. They are seeking help with reducing speeding on Dover Manson to avoid accident or injury. James Montgomery – recommend asking Yukon Police Department for extra patrols. Charlie Lee – agreed with all recommendations. Brad Downing – agreed with all recommendations. Tim Peters – agreed to work with residents in getting extra patrols in the area and possible neighborhood watch program started. Traffic Commission – July 13th, 2021 Page 2 ITEM5: Discus traffic concerns James Montgomery – Yukon Parkway starting at Main St going North traffic lights are all dim and need to be checked. Charlie Lee – Ranchwood and Main St. needs to be checked light is stuck on. Brad Downing - None Tim Peters – concerned with speeding traffic along Vandament and Frisco, currently working with Yukon Police Department to set up Speed Trailer.
