Board of Police Commissioners Meeting Minutes
April 29, 2013
Bev Harves Room, Zionsville Town Hall
Present: President Steve Mundy, Commissioner Susana Suarez, Commissioner Jeff Papa, Attorney Kim
Blanchet, Chief of Police Robert Knox, Captain Doug Gauthier
Absent: Commissioner Nagy, Commissioner Carney
Call to Order: President Mundy
Approval of February, 2013 meeting minutes
Motion made for approval: Commissioner Papa, Seconded by: Commissioner Suarez
Motion passed by unanimous vote.
Old Business: Promotion of Officer Joseph F. Robinson to the rank of Sergeant in the Uniform Services
Division was presented to the board by Chief Knox with description of the promotion process.
Motion made by Commissioner Papa to promote Officer Joseph Robinson to the rank of Sergeant,
Seconded by Commissioner Suarez.
Motion passed by unanimous vote.
President Mundy requested that Chief Knox congratulate Sergeant Robinson on behalf of the Board of
Police Commissioners.
Chief Knox gave an update on the K-9 program and Officer Wayde Knox’s progress along with K-9 “Eso”
at Vohne Liche Kennels.
New Business:
Chief Knox gave a brief review of the several letters / emails of appreciation for several officer’s actions
regarding their service to the citizens and community.
Captain Gauthier provided an update regarding recent flooding in Zionsville and the operation of the
Emergency Operations Center and the Town’s Emergency Preparedness Plan. Commissioner Suarez
committed that a review of the Emergency Preparedness Plan may be in order to stay current in review
of recent events here in Zionsville and around the nation. Everyone agreed that it is a good idea to
periodically review these plans and will move forward on a review.

President Mundy adjourned the meeting.
The next scheduled meeting of the Zionsville Board of Police Commissioners will be on Tuesday, May 28,
2013 at 8:30am in the Bev Harves Room at the Zionsville Town Hall, 1100 W. Oak St. Zionsville, Indiana.
