Zionsville Metropolitan Board of Police Commissioners meeting memoranda for March 18, 2019 Present: President Susana Suarez, Vice-President Josh Garrett, Commissioner Brian Traylor, Commissioner Suzanne Nagy, Commissioner Marcia Rosenfeld, Chief Robert Knox, Captain Robert Musgrave, Captain Jeff Morris, Captain Charles White, Attorney Heather Willey Call to Order: President Suarez Approval of Minutes from January 22, 2019 meeting: Motion made for approval by Vice- President Garrett, Commissioner Suzanne Nagy seconded the motion. Passed by unanimous vote. Old Business: There was no old business. New Business: 1) Personnel Matters: President Suarez made a motion to uphold the (5) day suspension for the employee that was objecting to the suspension. Vice-President Garrett seconded the motion. Motion passed by unanimous vote. 2) Update on hew hires: Chief Knox gave an update on the new officers that started with our department on March 11, 2019. The officers are James Stiles, who has transferred from the fire department and Cameron Smith. The officers will attend a Pre-Basic class in Montgomery County March 25 thru March 29, 2019. After completion of the Pre- Basic class the officers will start their FTO program before attending the Academy. Tentative starting date for the Academy is May 28, 2019. 3) Review of Proposed Policies: Captain Morris presented the Commissioners with (2) proposed policies for consideration: a) #415: Utility Service Emergencies b) #409: Crisis Intervention Incidents Commissioner Nagy made a motion to approve the policies as presented. Commissioner Traylor seconded the motion. The motion passed by unanimous vote.  4) Update on current hiring process: Chief Knox informed the Board that we currently have (4) applicants selected from our lateral process that have been selected to go on to the background investigation phase of the hiring process. Public Comment: None Commissioner Nagy made a motion to adjourn the meeting, seconded by Commissioner Traylor. Motion passed by unanimous vote. The next regular scheduled meeting of the Zionsville Metropolitan Board of Police Commissioners is scheduled for April 15, 2019 at 8:30am or immediately following the Zionsville Town Council meeting in Room #105 at the Zionsville Town Hall, 1100 West Oak St., Zionsville, Indiana.
