COVID-19 Grants COVID-19 Grants The pandemic resulted in a renewed focus on community grants to support Zionsville's local businesses. We quickly shifted to a goal of 2020 sustaining our local businesses and strengthening the foundation and resolve of our 2021 residents. In 2020, the Town awarded $113,000 in grants to 14 local businesses. Salty Cowboy - $10,000 grant Lesley Jane Local retailer Lesley Jane was the first local business to receive a grant from the CDC in July of 2020. Lesley Jane is a women’s specialty boutique located on Zionsville’s Main Street. Lesley Hunt will use the grant primarily to update the business’s website. These enhancements will allow the business to process online orders, utilize gift cards and sync various existing software packages. The grant will also be used to cover losses for unsold prom dresses and the cost of seasonal stock, as well as toward marketing efforts. “I’d like to express my gratitude to the Town of Zionsville Community Development Corporation and its committee members who reviewed my grant application and approved it,” Lesley said. “Now, I am hopeful. Without this grant I would not be able to recover the losses incurred from a prom season that was cancelled as a result of the current pandemic. Mayor Emily Styron said: “With the launch of this grant program, we have been taking action to support the economic sustainability of Zionsville’s local businesses. We are committed to helping lift up this vital sector of our local economy.” About the Community Development Corporation (CDC) The Town of Zionsville Community Development Corporation is a nonprofit service organization whose mission is to undertake activities that are for the "betterment of Zionsville." Formed in 2016, the CDC contributes to the community in a variety of ways, including offering economic development incentives in the form of grants and loans to businesses in the 106th Street TIF district as well as operating and maintaining the pathways, rain gardens and common areas in Creekside Corporate Park.  In 2020, the CDC focused supporting local businesses impacted by COVID-19. In 2021, the CDC is focused on facilitating sustainability and being a partner for our local business community.
