Zionsville Pathways Committee Meeting

MINUTES OF TH.E MEETING OF THE ZIONSVILLE PATHWAYS COMMITTEE HELD SEPTEMBER 15, 2014 Meeting called to order at 6:00 PM Members in attendance: Art Small Bill Spitz Paul Watson Non-Members in attendance: Lance Lantz Lisa Burr Paul Watson asked if we could move the meeting to another night since he would like to attend but has a conflict with the current night. Since we did not have a majority of the members at this meeting will discuss with members at next meeting. Discussed Walk/Bike to school programs--Schools working of walk/bike to school with elementary schools with specified days and resources for elementary schools except Union but little done for Middle Schools and High Schools Need greater promotion to encourage Middle School and High Schools students to walk/bike to school. More bike racks at High School. Discuss with Jeff at the next meeting since he is the point man for this initiative. Paul Watson and Lance Lantz with the rest of the committee briefly discuss pathway obstructions with Paul had identified. Lance discussed fall sidewalk repairs. Discussed Bike Friendly Application -Lisa indicated that we need to do more in the area of education such as putting bike routes of town Web site, ID roads which could be bike routes, mark bike routes where possible, adopt Complete Streets, organizing more bike events, and work on Development Standards. Art discussed Walk Friendly Application-updated application due 12/15/2014- will discuss at next meeting Meeting adjourned at 7:30 PM
