Zionsville Pathways Committee Meeting

Monday, February 7, 2022 Pathways Committee Meeting Minutes Members Present: Justin Hage, Emily Makinson, Mark McDonald, Sarah Moore, Phil Mellencamp Others Present: Mindy Murdoch, Jarod Logsdon, John Stehr The meeting was called to order at 6:34 p.m. Minutes from previous meeting were approved. 1. Justin recapped 2021 discussions/meetings 2. September 2022 Bike Friendly application due. Application is offline until May while it’s being revamped for emphasis on equity, diversity, and inclusion 3. Jarod: Late April Overly-Worman Path/park grand opening In process of expanding the Rail Trail North and South and widening existing trail. They will systematically close sections to widen them. This was a 30 year project which will be completed by connecting to Whitetown. Will complete last mile or so by end of 2022. Will eventually provide 28 miles of connection. 4. Mindy mentioned upcoming events: May is Family fun ride – might combine with opening of OW. Meet at town hall and ride to Vonterra. Trails are paved for inclusivity Group walks – Pathways committee could promote or volunteer at this Life of Lincoln at Lincoln Park Greenfest at Town Hall in April. Could do a bike to Greenfest promotion with a bike check Carter Station will have Exercise stations 5. John Stehr mentioned Holliday Farms/Oakridge would like to have path to town. This is a conversation Pathways committee could help get started 6. Justin mentioned revamping the pathways strategic plan which was last done in 2016. Sarah said there might be grant money available for this. Grant requests due end of March. Potential for synergy with Parks Board and their Grant request. 7. John Stehr suggested logo for Pathways committee. 8.
