Zionsville Pathways Committee Meeting

5/09/2023 Pathways Committee Meeting Minutes Meeting called to order 6:30 pm Members present: Kris Barksdale, Quincy Cunningham, Emily Makinson, Mark McDonald, Phil Mellencamp, Craig Melton Community Member present: Brad Gressel Notes: 1. Discussed update on Trailfest. Justin has been talking to Jarod Logsdon and there is interest from his team as well as the parks foundation for a coordinated effort for 2024. Justin ha a meeting scheduled with Addison Bradford of the Parks Foundation to discuss further. Jarod mentioned forming a committee with members from Pathways, Parks and his team to further this discussion. 2. Looked at Pathways list and added committee members suggestions. Need to update that list to remove duplicates and reprioritize. 3. Brad Gressel presented to the group on the need for a connected trail along the east side of Michigan Rd. from Brittany Chase to 146th. New neighborhoods along this stretch have implemented trails but there are older communities that do not have a trail so there are several gaps. Below are Quincy’s notes after Emily left meeting at 7pm 4. Ongoing discussion about Brad Gressell’s presentation. Possible hurdles could be easements and INDOT’s long-term plan for Michigan Rd 5. Craig Melton would like to put a budget line item in the town’s next budget for a pathway study.  6. Kris Barksdale asked if we could go through a few projects listed on the master project spreadsheet. We reviewed the three T items. Confirming two are complete. 7. Mark McDonald suggested we reorganize the priority list and add categories with information that would include linear length of the path and potential complexities of the project.
