February 4, 2013 7:30PM ­PUBLIC HEARING – Annexation Ordinance Location: Zionsville Town Hall – Beverly Harves Room NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING BY THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF ZIONSVILLE Notice is hereby given of a public hearing to be held by the Town Council of the Town of Zionsville on Monday, February 4, 2013 at 7:30 p.m. in the Zionsville Town Hall, 1100 West Oak Street, Zionsville, Indiana 46077 to consider the following: The Town of Zionsville, Indiana (“Town”) introduced on November 7, 2012 an annexation ordinance regarding the annexation of certain property on its western border (“Annexation Territory”). This notice is to inform you that the Zionsville Town Council has scheduled a public hearing to consider the annexation ordinance annexing the Annexation Territory into the Town. The Annexation Territory (described in the legal description below) includes 3,958 acres. The Annexation Territory is legally described as follows: The East Half of Sections 6, 7, 18, 19, and 30, and all of Sections 8, 17, 20 and 29, all in Township 18 North, Range 2 East, 2nd Principal Meridian, Boone County, Indiana, EXCEPT that portion that falls within the existing town limits of Whitestown, Indiana. The above description being more particularly described as follows: Beginning at the northwest corner of the East Half of Section 6, Township 18 North, Range 2 East; (the following five (5) courses are along the existing boundary of the Town of Zionsville, Indiana): (1) thence East along the north line of said Section 6 (S.R. 32) to the northeast corner thereof; (2) thence South along the east line said Section 6 (C.R. 700 East) to the Southeast corner thereof; (3) thence East along the north line of Section 8, Township 18 North, Range 2 East (C.R. 100 South) to the northeast corner thereof; (4) thence South along the East line of Sections 8, 17, 20 and 29, all in Township 18 North, Range 2 East (C.R. 800 East) to the Southeast corner of said Section 29; (5) thence West along the South line of said Section 29 and along the South line of Section 30, Township 18 North, Range 2 East to the Southwest corner of the East Half of said Section 30; thence North along the West line of the East Half of Sections 30, 19, 18, 7, and 6, all in Township 18 North, Range 2 East (C.R. 650 East) to the point of beginning and containing 4,196 acres, more or less, EXCEPT that portion that falls within the existing town limits of Whitestown, Indiana. The Town Council will hear all points of view and all interested parties will have the opportunity to testify at the public hearing as to the proposed annexation. A copy of the annexation ordinance and all attachments pertaining thereto are on file and may be examined prior to the public hearing from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, except for legal holidays, in the Office of the Clerk/Treasurer at the Zionsville Town Hall, 1100 West Oak Street, Zionsville, Indiana, 46077. Written comments in support of, or in opposition to, the annexation filed with the Clerk/Treasurer prior to the public hearing will be considered by the Town Council. The public hearing is open to the public. The public hearing may be continued from time to time as may be found necessary.
