PZAZ Minutes 8 a.m. April 20, 2022 Zionsville Town Hall Fanimation Room 103 1100 West Oak Street This meeting was conducted onsite. All members participated in person. Present: Greta Sanderson, Michal Owens, Dillon Wyatt, Tom Casalini, Roger Collins, Amy Lacy I. Attendance taken 8:02am II. Approve minutes from March 16, 2022, meeting III. Update on initiatives and committee responsibilities a. Ordinances and preservation: Dillon i. Best way to modify/add ordinance to recommended tree list. Concern is diversifying trees planted, as opposed to over planting trees on the recommended list. In order to do this, we need to create a new ordinance. Invasive species list must be included as high importance. ii. Dillon will discuss with Brad how to move forward. b. Events- Michal i. Greenfest- promote group, give out trees, discuss Tree of the Year Program ii. Z’ Tree of the Year- Flyer completed by graphic designer, donor contacted, make sure link is active before event, Photo of winning tree to be displayed in Town Hall for a year along with plaque c. Beautification- Tom i. Bumpers in the village- hard to maintain. Might consider rock instead. ii. Signage around town- Mayor adding wayfinding IV. Old Business a. Urban Tree Canopy (UTC) Assessment/IU Resiliency Cohort - Greta reported Matthias Benko will be conducting b. Z’ Tree of the Year Meeting adjourned 8:52am Next meeting May 18, 2022

Events (tree-planting day, Z’Greenfest) – April 23: Michal c. Tree City designation: Lance d. Outreach: Greta e. Beautification – roundabouts, Village bumper areas: Tom IV. Old business a. Urban Tree Canopy (UTC) Assessment/IU Resiliency sCohort - Greta b. Tree of the Year Award - Michal c. Student from high school eco club to serve as liaison – require town council action – Brad V. New business - none VI. Watch items a. Landscape in the Village b. Highlight Village history c. Expand decorative lighting poles, flags etc. onto the streets adjacent to Main Street d. Install works of sculpture around the Village, Lions Park and Elm Street Green. e. Toilets in the Village Business District f. Support the ongoing efforts to create a conservation district designation for the Historic Village. g. Tree inventory VII. Adjourn.
