PZAZ Minutes 8 a.m. July 20, 2022 Zionsville Town Hall Fanimation Room 103 1100 West Oak Street This meeting was conducted onsite. All members participated in person. Present: Greta Sanderson, Michal Owens, Dillon Wyatt, Roger Collins, Pauline Coderre, Mathias Benko I. Attendance taken 8:06 am II. Approve minutes from May 18, 2022, meeting III. Update on initiatives and committee responsibilities A. Ordinances and preservation- Dillon 1. Update Recommended Tree list and Prohibited Species list and make it a living document so it can be changed more easily and have flexibility 2. Focus on invasive species rather than recommended species to diversify B. Events- Michal 1. Fall Festival- September 10 2. Pauline and Michal will meet about making the float C. Outreach- Greta 1. Colony Woods reached out to help with trees 2. Reached out to Amanda Vela about putting PZAZ presentation on town website IV. Old Business A. Urban Tree Canopy (UTC) Assessment/IU Resiliency Cohort- Matthias 1. Document will be completed in the next couple weeks and presented to Parks Department. Map is completed with low-high priority; grant only covers planting in public areas.  B. Tree of the Year Award- Michal 1. Tree from Eagle Elementary that was submitted twice was selected. We need to decide which picture to use or combine the two artistically. We will also look into getting both winners a gift card from Earth and Turf. 2. We will send a letter to all who submitted thanking them and requesting them to submit again in the future. Will discuss highlighting some of the submissions on social media with Amanda. V. Adjourn meeting: 8:50- next meeting is August 17th. Greta will be sending out options for alternate meeting times.
