PZAZ Minutes 11:30 a.m. March 15, 2023 Zionsville Town Hall Tangoe Conference Room 202 1100 West Oak Street The meeting was conducted onsite. All members participated in person. Present: Greta Sanderson, Michal Owens, Pauline Coderre, Ellen Dennehy, Pam Diagostino, Roger Collins, Amy Lacy, Amanda Vela I. Attendance taken 11:30 a.m. II. Approved minutes from February 15, 2023 meeting III. Update on initiatives and committee responsibilities A. Ordinances and preservation: Pauline 1. Apply clear language to ordinances and clarify 2. Plan to have draft ready for next meeting B. Events: Michal 1. Zionsville Greenfest is 9-noon April 22. Tree saplings were ordered from DNR to hand out. We ordered red oak and have an information sheet for the table and will print out half sheets in which we will wrap saplings. C. Z’ Tree of the Year: 1. We will plan to keep the competition similar to last year and launch it at Zionsville Greenfest. We will update the QR code and pdf file. Amanda can post it on Social Media. We can also promote at Farmer’s Market and local businesses. D. Tree City Designation: Roger 1. This is our 22nd year receiving this designation and we received a special award called the Growth Award for the extra work that was put in this year! E. Outreach: Greta 1. Using social media or flyers to educate and spread awareness about the importance of trees. 2. Could also have a celebration of trees among elementary schools and a craft. Greta will reach out to Kris Deveraux at ZCS. IV. Adjourn at 12:30
