Zionsville Tree Board

PZAZ Minutes 11:30 a.m. April 19, 2023 Zionsville Town Hall Tangoe Conference Room 202 1100 West Oak Street The meeting was conducted onsite. All members participated in person. Present: Greta Sanderson, Michal Owens, Pauline Coderre, Ellen Dennehy, Pam Diagostino, Amy Lacy, Amanda Vela, Justin Wagoner, Roger Collins I. Attendance taken 11:30 a.m. II. Approved minutes from March 15, 2023 meeting III. Update on initiatives and committee responsibilities A. Ordinances and preservation: Pauline 1. Pauline worked on updating the ordinances with Lance Lantz and Carol Johnson. B. Events: Michal 1. Zionsville Greenfest is 9-noon April 22. We have Z’ Tree of the Year flyer ready to soft launch at Greenfest. The Red Oak information sheet has been updated to display and hand out at the event with the trees. 2. Z’ Tree of the Year will have a soft launch it at Zionsville Greenfest, then release press announcement on Monday April 24, 2023. Michal will complete script for promo video and we will plan to film it in the next couple weeks. Promo video can be released a few weeks into the contest. D. Tree City Designation: Roger 1. This is our 22nd year receiving this designation and we received a special award called the Growth Award. E. Outreach: Greta 1. We will set goals for our HOA outreach, then get a master list so we can attempt to set up meetings. Ellen will work on HOA presentation.  2. Kris Deveraux agreed to meet with us to hear about involving the schools with our mission and providing opportunities for students to learn about trees. F. Beautification: Pam 1. We discussed incorporating a beautification award- not a contest- just a way to recognize residents who have worked on their yard or retain trees/plants. We will brainstorm names and how consistently we would like to recognize residents. IV. Old business A. Everyone completed the meeting time survey. New meeting time will be Wednesdays at 8:30 a.m. V.
