16958 CITY COUNCIL PROCEEDINGS City Council Chambers, 123 South Lincoln Street, Municipal Building, Aberdeen, South Dakota, June 19, 2017, at 5:30 p.m., regular meeting of the Board of City Council Members, Mayor Mike Levsen presiding. Present at roll call were City Councilors David Bunsness, Alan Johnson, Dennis “Mike” Olson, Mark Remily, Rob Ronayne, Clint Rux, and Jennifer Slaight-Hansen. City Staff present were Robin Bobzien, Brett Bill, Karl Alberts, Eric Duven, and Cody Roggatz. Mayor Levsen led the Pledge of Allegiance. MINUTES Rux moved, Olson seconded to approve the minutes of June 9 and June 12, 2017, as circulated. All voting aye, motion carried. OPEN FORUM – No one was present. NEW BUSINESS APPOINTMENT TO VACANT POSITION ON CITY COUNCIL Discussion was held for the possible appointment to fill the vacancy of the City Council resulting from the resignation of Councilor Todd Campbell. Ronayne moved, Bunsness seconded to approve the appointment of Dave Lunzman to fill the vacancy on the City Council for the NW District resulting from the resignation of Councilor Todd Campbell, such term to expire on July 1, 2017, and to authorize the City Manager and Mayor to perform any actions necessary to complete such appointment. All voting aye, motion carried. City Finance Officer Karl Alberts administered the Oath of Office to Dave Lunzman. HEARING ON APPLICATION FOR SPECIAL LIQUOR LICENSE This being the time and place set for a hearing on an application for a Special One- Day Retail On-Sale Liquor License on June 25, 2017 for Sacred Heart Catholic Church’s Block Party at 502 Second Ave., SE with request for Community Event Permit, recommendations to approve were received, Remily moved, Ronayne seconded to approve of a Special One-Day Retail On-Sale Liquor License on June 25th for Sacred Heart Catholic Church and a Community Event Permit for their Block Party at 502 Second Ave., SE Parking Lot. All voting aye, motion carried. HEARING ON APPLICATION FOR SPECIAL LIQUOR LICENSE This being the time and place set for a hearing on an application for a Special One- Day Retail On-Sale Liquor License on July 6, 2017 for Aberdeen Area Chamber of Commerce’s Business After Hours at 17 South Main Street, recommendations to approve contingent upon an inspection by the Health Department were received, Remily moved, Rux seconded to approve of a Special One-Day Retail On-Sale Liquor License on July 6th for Aberdeen Area Chamber of Commerce’s Business After Hours at 17 South Main Street Parking Lot contingent upon inspection by the Health Department. All voting aye, motion carried. AIRPORT LEASE #64 FOR GSA/TSA Johnson moved, Slaight-Hansen seconded to approve of Lease Amendment No. 4 for Airport Lease #64 for General Services Administration (GSA)/Transportation Security Administration (TSA) and authorize the City Manager to sign the Lease Amendment. All voting aye, motion carried.
