City Manager’s Proposed Action: Motion by _______________, second by ______________ to approve relocation of a Special One-Day Retail On-Sale Liquor License on July 6, 2017, for Aberdeen Area Chamber of Commerce’s Business After Hours to 1 Main Street North (Lot 1, Blackstone Second Subdivision), subject to approval of relocation by City Departments. Overview: The City Council on June 19, 2017, approved at a public hearing a Special One-Day Liquor License on July 6th for the Aberdeen Area Chamber of Commerce’s Business After Hours at 17 South Main Street, the parking lot north of the Dacotah Prairie Museum. The Chamber, in conjunction with the Aberdeen Downtown Association, recently learned that KSFY wishes to feature the City of Aberdeen by broadcasting its live news programs from Aberdeen’s downtown at 5:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. on July 6th. Because such a broadcast will require a larger footprint than is available at the 17 South Main Street parking lot, the Chamber is requesting approval by the Council to relocate the Business After Hours event at 1 Main Street North Parking Lot. This relocation is less than a block northwest of the approved location. Location inspections will need to be completed by the Fire Department and the Health Department if the relocation is approved. Security concerns with the relocation that are raised by the Police Department will also need to be addressed. Primary Issues/Alternatives to Consider: None Budgetary/Fiscal Issues: None Attachments: Map of relocation of proposed licensed premises. {00028302.DOC / 1} Rev 7/09 # 2 5 ' +3 52 2 2 5 ' # $ !" ! ! ! ! + +, #$ * -*.)/ -'' '#0/ - 1 23435 2/ 16!*7!*( +2 8316!*!*(11*%
