K.O. Lee Aberdeen Public Library Board of Trustees Meeting Minutes April 5, 2022
The K.O. Lee Aberdeen Public Library Board met on Tuesday, April 5, 2022 at 5:00 PM at the Public Library.
Present were Board Members Lynn Klundt, Troy McQuillen Peter Ramey, Don Briscoe, Cindy Senger, Library
Director Shirley Arment, Assistant Library Director Cara Perrion, City Liaison Rob Ronayne, and City Manager Joe
Gaa. Board President, Lynn Klundt called the meeting to order.
OPEN FORUM
There were no community members to speak in the open forum portion of the meeting.
MINUTES
Cindy Senger moved that the minutes of the March 8, 2022 meeting be approved. Troy McQuillen
seconded the motion. Motion carried.
LIBRARIAN’S REPORT
The librarian’s report, as presented, was discussed. Adult and youth program attendance increased
dramatically this month. Following a trend in the community. Planning for summer reading is underway.
FINANCIAL MATTERS
The current list of bills and financial statements were discussed. Peter Ramey moved to approve that the
March 2022 bills be paid and that the financial reports be received and placed on file. Cindy Senger
seconded. Motion carried.
NEW BUSINESS
Shirley Arment updated the board on the State Library Survey. Discussed how the data is collected
throughout the year. The board did not have approve of the survey but to be presented for their review.
Shirley Arment talked about the plans for the transition for the new library director. Cara Perrion stated that
she would be doing the preparation of the library board materials and help the new director with any on-site
training. City Manager Joe Gaa discussed the on-boarding procedure from the City. Several library board
members stated they would help the staff and new director during the transition.
The library board thanked Shirley Arment for her years of service and dedication.
Meeting adjourned by Lynn Klundt, Board President.
The next Library Board meeting will be Tuesday, May 3, 2022 at 5:00 PM at the Public Library.

State Library Survey completed
(Board and City Manager review)
Transition of new library director
The next Library Board meeting will be Tuesday, May 3, 2022 at 5:00 pm at the library.
Members of the public who would like to attend the meeting will be allowed into the
meeting, with social distancing measures in place.
Thank you
Open forum provides an opportunity for the public to address the Library Board with
questions, concerns or comments on items, which are not on the agenda. Open forum will be
limited to 10 minutes. The open forum may not be used to make personal attacks, to air
personality grievances, to make political endorsements, or for political campaign purposes.
Open forum will not be used as a time for problem solving or reacting to the comments
made, but, rather for hearing the citizen for informational purposes. The Library Board may
respond with a request for Library Management to follow up report back on any issue raised
during the public address time. A presentation may not exceed two minutes in duration.
