Mayor’s Advisory Committee for People with Disabilities Minutes Meeting Date: Tuesday, May 16, 2017 Start Time: 12 p.m. End Time: 1 p.m. Location: City Hall 2nd Floor Conference Room Purpose: Regular scheduled meeting Attended: Krista Bau, Kristine Fastenau, Holly Gederos, Sarah Dorich, Mendy Jones, Nancy Kelsey, Dalita Meyer, Cody Roggatz, Laura Stoltenburg, Doris Stusiak, Tom Wanttie, Becca Wells and guest Tyler Goldade Excused: Dan Brush, Ardell Fiedler, Susan Hook, Deb Kambel, Steve Kelsey, Cindy Krischman, Eric Vetter and Sandy Glover. 1. Standing Items 1.1 Any additions to agenda? 1 item about classes regarding ASL 1.2 Review and approve minutes from February and April 2017 Meeting-these will be e-mailed out – correct Ardell’s name. Krista made motion to approve the minutes with the correction of Ardell’s name, with Nancy second. Motion carried. Laura provided the treasure’s report. 1.3 Review and approve Treasurer’s report from April 2017 Meeting: Discussed option of changing the report format. Current balance for the general fund for 2017 is $2,000.25; ADA fund is -$39.50. Will take the $39.50 expenses for BAD event from last year’s budget. Motion to accept treasure’s report was Krista Bau and second by Holly. All approved. 2. Committee Reports 2.1 BAD – The subcommittee met and will make a few changes for next year with less visual perceptual stations and include other areas. Will not provide T shirts next year. The committee did not use any allotted money from this year’s budget. Next year BAD will be held April 28th 2018 There we 381 students who attend the 2016 event. 2.2 Partners in Community Pride – no report 2.3 Transportation – Cody reported that the FFA completed their annual inspection at the airport. Rideline has recent 2 resignations. Interviews will begin. Recently purchased a new bus and looking for advertising to be placed on the bus. Rideline recently purchased new tablets that the bus drivers will utilize which will have an electronic fare reader. 2.4 Education Enhancement Award – Will be sending out fliers soon. 2.5 NDEAM – There is a save a date mailer going to. The event will be held October 18th 1-4 p.m. at the Capital Theater. Event will be showing the film Life Animated. Will look into the option of providing transportation. 2.6 ADA Anniversary Celebration – July 21? Wil be held July 21st. There will be karaoke and a band. Considering giving prizes. Please donate prizes if able. Will also be providing some educational opportunities. 3. Old Business 3.1 Invitation to Community Needs Assessment Stakeholder Meeting – April 26 or 27 – no one was able to attend this meeting 4. New Business 4.1 Gypsy Day Float with SDSBVI? September 30 – Tabled until next meeting 4.2 ASL training – this is a course provided through CSD 5. Review Upcoming Dates – June 2nd is donut day at Kusler’s corner.
