Mayor’s Advisory Committee for People with Disabilities Minutes Meeting Date: Tuesday, August 21, 2018 Start Time: 12 p.m. End Time: 1 p.m. Location: City Hall 2nd Floor Conference Room Purpose: Regular scheduled meeting Members in attendance: Tom Wanttie, Gwyn Fischbach, Doris Stusiak, Nancy Kelsey, Mendy Jones and Steve Redman – guest, Tina Kenser - guest 1. Standing Items 1.1 Any additions to agenda? Update from Doris on the Curling, What constitutes a Quorum – 1/3 of current membership, 1.2 Review and approve minutes from June and July 2018 Meeting – Motion by Nancy, Second by Mendy, motion approved 1.3 Review and approve Treasurer’s report from June and July 2018 Meeting – Eric who was not present asked by email for $100 out of ADA for Fallout, $25 for Sound crew and $25 to lady from Pierre who sang – motion to approve with these bills paid by Mendy, second by Nancy, motion approved. 1.4 Excused absence: Becca Wells, Allison Daschle, Dalita Meyer, Dawn Brush, Deb Kambel, Tyler Goldade, Lance Sigdestad, Cindy Kirschman, Eric Vetter and Cody Roggatz 1.5 Motion to add four new members: Tina Kenser, Lance Sigdestad, Shelby DeHaai and Nicole Nelson. 2. Committee Reports 2.1 BAD – tabled 2.2 Partners in Community Pride – no new info 2.3 Transportation – Position open for Transportation Director – Cody’s last day will be September 15 before he moves on to California. 2.4 Education Enhancement Award – Deadline has passed (August 15) , 2 applications from NSU, we should consider different time frame, members on the committee are: Dalita Meyer, Deb Kambel and Mendy Jones 2.5 NDEAM – No further info 2.6 ADA Anniversary Celebration – Recap – the museum did a rough head count of 128 people, overall the event went very well. 3. Old Business 3.1 Sign Language Interpreter – we will be paying for this service out of our budget, an adjustment will be made, if necessary. 3.2 Vote on new members to the committee: Lance Sigdestad, Shelby DeHaai and Nicole Nelson. 3.3 Update on Curling from Doris: Matt Perreault has had contact with a member of the World Curling Federation – will be doing a “Learn to Curl”, has not set a date yet, he will also teach locals how to teach wheelchair curling 3.4 4. New Business 4.1 Krista Bau is stepping down from Committee. Will still like to help with NDEAM and BAD in the future. 4.2 a Quorum is 1/3 of current membership. 4.3 4.4 5.
